I have literally used that feature every single day for the last 2 years. Every time I get into the car, it connects and I can play whatever I want. You can even use Siri with is, that is if u have an iphone4s

Re: Bluetooth media stream

the 2011 edge does it but my 2012 mustang has no sync etc~ still has the audio jack but I dont really listen anyway.

I hate pluging it up using the USB as it locks out the device and navigating on the unit BLOWS

Yes but I can't see my track title. And I'm OCD. And you can't tell it a specific track to play. You have to manually do it. I use both my nano and 4s. 32 gb of music all together ftw!

I don't know what you guys are talking about. You have to voice command "Bluetooth audio"?

It won't let me select tracks via voice command while in Bluetooth media stream.

Mine is a little off. I think. Unless this is normal.

My iPod is connected via the USB. It auto plays it 70% of the time. Sometime it's stuck on the same song or artist. Just hit menu and play all.

For Bluetooth. It auto connects and just plays. My steering wheel controls work fine except for the voice commands. "play track blah blah whatever" and it says back to me, " cannot be selected while on Bluetooth media device". So I have to manually select a track I want or just let it shuffle. Pointless feature.

so you drive while streaming bluetooth audio, turn your car off, leave, come back, turn your car on and sync starts playing the bluetooth audio automatically? I have to press voice command and say bluetooth audio....

Since connecting my hard drive i rarely use bluetooth audio...its great telling sync what genre or artist to play, but bluetooth audio is great for podcasts!!

Yes it'll connect within 30 feet I'd say. And when I crank it up it's usually blaring wherever I left off and everything.

With my nano it's a half nightmare. I had to disconnect my battery once just to get it to register. Does your hard drive show song titles and stuff like that?

Re: Bluetooth media stream

Phone never comes out of my pocket either but i still have to press the steering wheel sync voice command and say bluetooth audio everytime i start the car.

The hard drive works flawlessly, stores all the content and registers everything. Ipod was a rival to the microsoft zune when it was still out so maybe they sabotaged the system. As much as i hate ipods all the aftermarket stereos are built around ipod so its funny that sync is the only one where ive heard of people having issues. The zune worked perfectly with sync, but it dient even work on aftermarket head units like pioneer.....its like apple was in on sabotaging the other mp3s

Ps..you can use any external usb hard drive that is powered through usb, just format it as fat32

Re: Bluetooth media stream

It's a beautiful thing when you turn on the car and the music starts playing! I was skeptable at first about the whole sync system, but it actually is quite useful and use it more then I thought I would.

Streaming pandora from my iPhone is just awesome.

Internet is for pandora. Like wi-FI. Not 3/4g. I've tried.

Mine told me I had to have wi-FI. Made sense because it would run data up.

For me I can do and say all commands with my 13 when and only connected with USB no matter the the device. However, with Bluetooth it just plays what I have playing or have played and can only navigate up or back a song not playlist,or artists... But again through random pounding of the arrow keys I did get to other artists. If someone can give clear instructions on this much would be appreciated. Simply Sync will do all and much more when connected USB but Bluetooth is very limited to only use phone ( talk) options and mp3 audio player options. Any help? Thanks

That's not syncs fault it is just how bluetooth is, it will not allow transmissionof metadata (artist/track info)...the industry is working on adding this functionality in future phones as bluetooth 3.0 but most likely this will not be supported by current versions of sync.

It's much easier to navigate an external harddrive through the stereo knob rather then the steering wheel and it's also much faster.

I get into my car and start driving. Push command button and say Blue tooth Audio and starts playing music. Stop to get gas, get back in car start again, say blue tooth audio, response- no blue tooth audio found. This happens every time I stop the car, anyone know why?

This happens to me ever so often. I hear that my music isn't playing as soon as I start the car and notice that the phone un-synced. I mean it's no big deal to sync it back up again and takes 10 seconds, but I don't know why it does that either...
