Grilles of the billet

Do they make a replacement grille for the v6 bumper that is billet and not an overlay. I would rather switch grilles rather than cut my stock one and not like it.

My 08 V6 has a chrome billet grill. I think AM sells them if I'm not mistaken. Mine came with it when I bought it so I'm not 100% sure.

Supposedly, you can install the "overlay" as a replacement. Here's an article of the install. Was thinking of doing it myself if I don't get a GT front.

That's what I'm looking to do. I'm still bumper less. So I'm decided to go with the v6 since I'll be buying a GT after I get out of college. But I want to give it a little flare besides the honeycomb that's been around since 99.

I like the honeycomb. I just wish they had a pony delete version such as what the Bullet had.

I bought the overlays and tried it just replacing the grille but it didn't look right. I think I have a picture. I only tried the upper grille the lower grille didn't work out right to install.

I've heard you can jimmy rig it but with zip ties and such. I already have a grille with zip ties in it already lol I don't want to see more.

Re: Grilles of the billet

You could get the OEM MCA grille and remove the tri bar emblem?

I have the 2012 MCA. I'll look at it tomorrow with some light out and see if the emblem can be removed. Personally, I like the tribar emblem.

The MCA needs the pony emblem in the middle. It's as close as I can get to the boss lol

It appears so.

Was thinking of trying it myself. Although, I'd remove the emblem completely. Still undecided though as I like the honeycomb.

Any of your Mca or California special grills will fit a v6 without modification. I have a chrome California special grill on now.

Re: Grilles of the billet

The emblem can be removed by unscrewing it from the back. There's mountings in the grille for the emblem either on the left or right side, not in the middle. I'm sure you could rig up a mounting unit to put it in the middle.

Personally, I really like the MCA grille over the actually billet style grille and it was a easy in easy out swaparoo.

Thats what I'm looking for is easy install without cutting. Plus the billit grilles have too many bar in my opinion. MCA have just the right thickness.
