Was wondering if anyone had a viper system installed on their car. I saw on YouTube that you can use the auxiliary ports for custom things like rolling down windows and stuff seems pretty legit. Also if you do have it installed do you need extra wiring for the windows and stuff?
I'm prolly getting the 5704 for my '10. With Smartstart, I don't give a hoot about putting the windows up/down. I'm going to use an output for rear defrost though.
Cheaper to have Ford put both in. You have to ask yourself, do you really need to pay over $700 for an alarm that will alert you if your in Europe on vacation?
That part is another add on. 5704 is alarm with remote start. Then you can add the modules from there. There are 2 different Smartstart, 1 "basic". Allows you to start and set time for it IIRC from the phone (great if you work in a building where the fob won't start it), 2nd has the GPS in it so you can track your car (to monitor children to see the speed or whatever and if the car goes out of a set area and the like. One feature I like is the antenna in the car has the LED and valet switch on it, no drilling a hole somewhere for the LED. and on the remote with the display you can see all the statuses, even the temp inside the car. And if you know where to go and if you know anybody, you won't pay MSRP.
