Break-in period

How many miles would you suggest I break the car in with? So far I'm at 950, and I was thinking between 1500 and 2000 before I can open her up.

From those more experienced, what would you guys suggest I drive before I start to push it?

Eek, meant to post this in the GT forum. Not sure if it matters for break in though.

Treat it like a dog when it's born... It will be a dog when it grows up
