Sunroof on a '13 V6?

Can a sunroof be installed in a 2013 v6? And would it look good?

Of course it can.

Just get a JC Whitney catalog. I'm sure if anybody has a universal sunroof, They will have it in their catalog.

Now, Personally-I would never cut a hole in my roof to install something that will probably leak every time it rains, Having the sun baking you and everything inside the car, Needing a very expensive custom made headliner installed and weakening your roof integrity.

A factory sunroof always has a way to get rid of the water when it rains and usually has a nice sliding cover on the inside to block the sun when needed. The add on will not have such features.

Why don't you just trade it in on a nice Mustang convertable?

Ronnie

I had a friend who had a 09 with a power sunroof that tilted up and also slid back into the roof. It also had a shade visor that slid across and it was polarized so it kept the rays out. It was bad *** and it got attention everywhere he went as people had never seen it in a new (at the time) mustang. That said it was probably close to 2g's when it was done and it was installed professionally and looked as if the car was made with it.

Ford Probe

I had a Ford Probe with the sunroof like that. It slid back and looked really good. It was Factory.

I'm just suggesting for the two or three thousand he will spend getting a sunroof installed he could put that $$$$ toward an convertible.

It would be a total miracle to find a shop to install the sunroof properly.

Why not just get a mustang with the glass roof option and watch as rocks hit it?

Ya it would take some searching for a reputable shop that is for sure. I would want to see the work prior and talk to the owners of the cars.

Some people don't like verts. I am not into them at all. My brother has the Camaro and I cant stand driving in it with the top down. I always like the idea of a very but after a few minutes I want the top up. Way too much wind and noise for me.

Plus what if you roll. Your out of there. Least with a top your crushed between metal and glass. That's a better way to die than watch as you hit a tree at 60. Js

I would be paranoid of that as well but that said. I haven't heard of one person that has had a roof break or even chip and they have been using them for years now. It would probably be covered under glass on your auto insurance too I would think... Could have a rider added to your policy too I guess.

Harsh and out there but, with a coupe you get crushed in metal and glass. With a vert you get thrown out since the top is soft or down and you basically watch as your body hits a tree. That's life. Sadly.

You could put mirror tint on sunroof. The Guy I bought my stang off of said it was $1200. I do have channels which exit around back tires for water. It don't leak but when I turn up stereo it leaks in front a little. So no bass after car wash or if its raining. I had a buddy who had a beater truck and he took sawzall and put his own in. It barely leaked, which he tarred. Never leaked again but was little off center. Measure ten times, cut once. A hell of a lot to lose if u f*** up.

This exact discussion comes up frequently on the forum. While a few people do have them it also compromises the structural integrity of the roof. Thats what I've read elsewhere on the forum
