Keep the correct heat range

To hot of a plug NO GOOD

To cold of a plug NO GOOD

Unless you do a whole lot of modifications you need to stick with the plugs that came in your engine.
They are the correct plugs and as long as they do the job and ignite the fuel that is all you need.
No matter what advertisements you see you should know that changing spark plugs will not boost the horsepower on your Mustang. It won't boost the torque either.

This is extremely correct. One tick hotter won't hurt, but there's no real gain in any plug on a stock level.

Don't buy fancy plugs either. They're just gimmicky and in boosted situations, more prongs or sharp corners also become places that generate heat and cant contribute to knock. Just run stock Motocrafts, they're not expensive like the 3-valve plugs Ford used.

My Grand Prix actually runs 2-3 heat ranges cooler than a stock plug, but it's moderately modified and boosted.

Suggestion--- Leave it alone.

Your electrical system is fine, You only need to worry if the engine starts mis-firing.

As long as the timing is correct and your ignition system is producing enough spark to ignite the fuel everything is optimal.

Reading those advertisements for a lot of that stuff is giving you the impression that buying that stuff will make your car run better and more horsepower etc. is just a bunch of crap.
IF IT AIN"T BROKE--DON"T MESS WITH IT>

Spend your $$$$ on a axleback muffler and a CAI or K&N drop in filter. Then you can actually be doing some good for your car as far as performance and sound.

Always think of your motor as a big a$$ air pump, the more you get in, and then back out, the more power you make (most of the time lol) So, as with most any vehicle, Cold Air Intake, Header Back Exhaust, Tuner, Throttle Body is always a somehow left out component on sixes... Those will get you started. I know that these mods, with 3.55 gears will net you some low low 13 second passes with traction. Then a 100 shot, dry, will put you into the 11s. That is all with stock electrical, ignition, plugs, injectors etc. With the exception of the tune, your spark will be perfect stock, all the way up until you pass 8/9 pounds of forced induction (boost).

Now your on the right track

You will be very happy with what you are doing now. Changing plugs and coil packs would not do anything at all compared to what your doing now.

especially not now.
if you add ridiculous amounts of power to your car, then you MIGHT need some new spark plugs.

The plugs and coils on these cars are good for anything you will ever do to it non aspirated. You would only need to upgrade the plugs if you were going to boost or spray. The coils are good for probably up to the point of you needing to forge the block.. lol.
