I've got 10k HIDs and have not been bright lighted yet. Had them for about 6 months . I'm not saying they don't bother people but they don't seem too . And when I have let my wife drive the mustang and I drive her car they don't seem to bother me anymore then anyone else's .

Well I am pretty sure 5-6k are the brightest. But 10k in a Mustang? Cmon man that is ricey, IMO. But hey as long as you like them thats what matters.

I was shooting for the blue color but they ended up being more ultra white with a slight blue . More the color of OEMhid. Just not as crisp lol

You gotta think though, a halogen bulb and hid bulb are completely different. So you'll never get that quality.

Like cut the wire and then put a wire but and electrical tape on it? I've heard there was no wire and its in the smart junction box in the passenger side foot panel. Explain

I was able to snag a pair of the silverstar ultra's for $40 last night at advanced auto. They had a $5 off promotion going on that I took advantage of. Install took all of 10 seconds per light. From looking at then on the daylight I cant see much difference from stock, maybe that will change when It gets dark out. I also only flicked them on for a second, they might take a little while to warm up... hopefully they will be bright enough to get thru the headlight tint and still be of use. If not them I wasted $40 and will have to go HID or projector.

Yes. There should be a wire. I'm not 100% sure but I believe there is. You could just cut it and cap it off.

The reason I dont want to go HID is because I dont want to fuss with installing a ballast and all that, it has nothing to do with the lights being "to bright" or "to blue"

Thanks in advance....

slow ride, take it easy
I installed my HID lights using YouTube. Lmao. That's how easy it is. I'm using 6K

Street racing is illegal. Leaving your car on while pumping gas is illegal. HIDs are illegal. littering is illegal. if you've ever done anything illegal in your life then I'm sure one person with HIDs isn't going to ruin the world. my opinion lol

That's what I have been trying to say! I just wanted to search HID an see how many he has commented on cause it feels like every HID thread I have seen the past 3 months he has been on there. I went back until I was sick of looking and everyone he has been on.
But I don't see anything about him talking about people's tint or anything else if he's that worried about the law he should enforce all of them lol

He's just speaking the truth. I know that where I live, a lot of people have HIDs in their stock housing and it sucks. I have to consciously try to look away just enough so I can still see my side of the road, when not being blinded. Also, here on base, they actively pull people over if they have HIDs in a stock housing. I guess it just depends on your area as to whether they crack down on it or not.

In Georgia if they want to bust you on hids they have to first impound your car and for that to happen you first have to be breaking a different law such as like parking in a fire lane and such then they are aloud to search and check everything but without that they're not aloud to look under the hood and they have no way of checking

+1,000,000 I don't ever start anything on here I love reading all the car info on here, but every single post he has something bad to say about them. We all have different taste like I said before if I don't like something I'm not going to post on it that's ugly and illegal because every has their own stuff they like that's what's fun about it if we all like the same stuff we would all have the same cars weather I like it or not I respect everyone's decision on what mods they like and I would never say hey that's ugly and I'm just tire of seeing that from the same guy the past couple months.

I think the reason people focus on the HID issue is because it is something that directly affects other drivers' visibility. A loud exhaust or loud music can't do that. I admit that I love the look of HIDs, but I'm saving up so that I can go all out and get the projectors too.

I've read this whole thread and the thread topic name.
But where does it say which non HID light is the best?
I want the best they have without going HIDs. And without having to order online.

From my experience the silvania silver star ultra lights. Silvania has a new light out but i have no experience with them. If i come across a 9007 bulb i'll review them.

I paid $39 at oreillys for a pair of the silverstar ultras just last weekend.

I put ultras in my 300zx and paid $70+ from the Zone.
Not worried about best bang for the buck. I want the best lights. Lol
I don't like doing risky business like putting HIDs in housings I just paid $249 for and another $250 to have them installed along with my front lip spoiler.

Compared to the vehicles i have driven with these rigged up hid bulbs the vision is much better with the silverstar ultras.

I'm gonna go pick some up tomorrow.
I withdraw my earlier statement. The new halo fogs that were installed with the new heads had new lights. So the heads are still using the original lights that were in the OEM housings

I think if it's ok to illegally have lights that blind an oncoming driver then the oncoming driver should be ok illegally shooting out the headlights of the offender.
