My friend simply bought the RTR exhaust, went to a muffler shop and had them weld it on. Sounds awesome with his BBK long tube headers and xpipe

Do you remember what the cost range was for welding them on? Just to get an idea of price range.

They sound pretty damn good, but I've only heard them on his v6 with long tubes and xpipe my car has long tube, xpipe and Roush Axlebacks

I posted this on another exhaust thread, but perhaps it will help you out here as well. I bought a set of GT500 axlebacks, and had my local muffler shop weld the tubes of my stock V6 mufflers to the GT500 mufflers (after he cut off the GT500 tubes). The sound is awsome! Nice rumble at idle, quiet when cruising, and you'll here it when you hit the go pedal. The great news on this is that they are hundreds cheaper than most of the axle backs being sold. I bought mine used from a GT500 owner for $200.00, plus the $80.00 the shop charged me to do the welding. The V8's have a larger pipe opening, so none of the V8's will clamp onto the V6 pipes. Here's a pic of the flaring and weld he did:
