Not sure you'd want to do that if you can. The fuses protect your vital electronics from surges and whatnot. A blown fuse is a heck of a lot cheaper and easier to replace than a computer. Just my 2 cents...

Without knowing your situation... No. Everything from variable valve timing, distributor, throttle body and fuel injection is handled by your computer. That requires a fuse box not only to protect its self but also to act as a junction for some systems. Even if you found a way to power the computer, it would probably see that something is very very wrong and attempt to protect its self. This could cause anything from it shutting down to it trying to put the car into a "limp home" mode.... I had a coil pack crack and short in my old Chevy, the computer went into limp home that basically was not letting me go over 3500 rpm or over 3rd gear... No telling what would happen In a mustang.

If your haveing serious fuse box issues I would not recommend a repair. Replace it by going to a junk yard. If you can't find a new enough mustang to pull from PM me, I know ware a totaled one is in FL and will help you out the best I can.

So you did something bad enough for your dad to ground you AND physically pull the fuses out of your car so you can't drive it. And even still, you wanna go against his wishes and try to start your car anyway, possibly damaging it and more than likely voiding the warranty. It's just not worth it dude. Wait out your punishment and then start your car safely with the fuses in place.

Man up dude, you have to grow up sometime. You don't want to loose your dads respect. My guess is that dad bought the car, and dad can sell it just as easy!!!!!!!!!!

Lol that's pretty smart to take out the fuses. Must have tweaked your dads last nerve. Man thought I was bad. If I ever got in trouble they would just take the car keys. Simple as that. Parents wouldn't waste the time to take out a fuse(s) of my mustang. But then again I would always hide my keys lol

I nvr bashed the economical status. Just the fact that he can't just handle the consequences. The fact that you take it this far mkes me wonder why your dad got you the car in the first place! You must have been a handful when you were younger.

Sounds like your Dad needed to be more drastic and pull the wheels off, lock it in the garage, or just completely remove the car from your home - maybe pay the $ to have it stored in a storage unit.

My suggestion is to think about what you are trying to do and maybe just get a ride with your friends for the time being.

If you were my kid and you took the car after I did that I would take you with me to the dealer and sell it back to them so you could have a temper tantrum right in front of everyone. Maybe we would get lucky and someone would get video of it and post it on youtube.

I think the OP needs to explain in detail the reason for his grounding and throw himself on the mercy of the ME court.

Wow. This is an awesome thread.

You know how lucky you are to be driving a Mustang at your young age? My common sense would be to suck it up and wait it out, but as a safety professional I've came to realize that everybody’s common sense level is much different. Dude, I can’t even believe you even thought about doing this. You wouldn't even make it out of your driveway with the ATAKs on. Think everything through before you act, it will help you in the future.

Ever see the video where the Father pulls out his 1911 .45 and shoots his daughters laptop? I'm picturing something along those lines...
