I get it sometimes to well decelerating. Is yours manual? I thought it might be the vibration off the driveshaft at certain speeds. It's only for a split second, then evens out. What are you experiencing?

Yes it is a 6 speed. And its just like what yours is doing. It only happens for a few seconds then goes away. I have ford looking at it right now so ive got my fingers crossed that they will do something to fix it. Ive read that ford has told a lot of people that this is normal but ive driven alot of high performance vehicles and this isnt at all normal.

These driveshafts on the V6's are so sketchy. Ford needs to step up!

Is the vibration mostly in the shifter? What I mean is, can you really feel it otherwise?
I'm thinking you're just feeling the awesomeness (not) of the dual-mass flywheel. For some reason, Ford had the bright idea to put it in the V6 models. It has weights that move with engine rpm and on decel, especially around 3k rpms they cause a vibration and by about 2500rpms it should disappear. It's normal.

It is so annoying to deal with.

You may have a bad motor/trans mount or something is rubbing making it worse. You shouldn't feel it THAT bad. I never really noticed it until I held onto the shifter while in decel.

Well... run it like you meant it and save up for an aluminum flywheel. If you ever wanted to add a procharger or turbo, you'd need one anyway. The DM flywheels do break at higher horsepower levels. ---------- Post added at 12:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:13 AM ---------- Quote:

The day I got my car I found a paint chip on the bumper where it looked like Ford scraped it installing the grill. They had it for 3 days while a new bumper was painted and installed.

Is this decell vibration only on the manual transmissions? I do not experience it at all (2011 V6 with almost 36,000 miles). However, I have the automatic transmission.
Only anoying thing I get is the "clunk" every once in awhile when crawling through 5:00 traffic.

I've had the same problem with mine so I changed out the shifter bracket and the vibration isn't as bad. I heard the driveshaft has something to do with it. "Don't quote me on that" but maybe change the bracket it'll help out!

Looks like the Auto is better than the Manual.

I'll laugh when your "adaptive shifting" in the auto adapts to you being gentle for a few days and then you floor it only to get sluggish downshifts and it shifts before redline.
Nothing is perfect and both have their quirks.

Dual mass flywheel is annoying, can feel it ' damping' when accelerating over rough pavement, feels like slipping clutch. Not to mention the rough shifting when it's under 50F in the morning. My dealer claimed both normal and sent me on my way.

Rough shift is not the DMF. It's the MT82 in general, and there is a service bulletin where they can switch to another trans fluid to help with that. Mostly though, get a shifter bracket.

Regardless, it's not the DMF. All MT82s have that issue and the 5.0 does not have a DMF.

I would love to swap out the whole clutch right now and driveshaft. Mine got much smoother once I swapped the shifter bracket out for the Barton unit. It didnt stop it all but it is so solid that it did get rid of a lot of the slop in the shifter and also made it shift smoother. The vibration is still there but it helped it a bit. I would do the DS next if they were cheaper. The 11 and 12 shaft amplifies the vibration more in my experience. See if you can find a used 13 shaft. The DMF is the root of it but the newer designed shaft and the shifter bracket should help it quite a bit.
