Lol The pipe is small. It kinda looks like a x. Maybe he was expecting the h pipe center to be the width of the car...

If not, my car schematics are wrong

Sounds crazy, but I'm not going to argue either. I know what I have on my car and apparently everyone else has this H pipe. Mines got an X. I know what they do and their shape obviously. I prefer an X over an H. We are all wrong at some point so why not you be right for your car and ill be right for mine. I know I'm missing and exhaust heat shield nut, 2nd one up from my passenger cat and I have a blood stain on my mid pipe from a rabbit which also knocked a hole into my gas tank shield and is stock performance wise except tires.

All in all, I'm showing my *** and arrogance on this, but I know my car, you know yours. Can we get back to why I started this. I want an exhaust for Christmas and I'm not wasting my money. I want the v8 sound. have at it y'all

Haha. I just read this thread tonight. Honestly... it's a hybrid. The connector on the stock exhaust isn't an X or H pipe. It's more X than H though.

For comparison sake...
H Pipe: |=|
X Pipe ><
Stock Exhaust: >=<

The sides are not straight, so it doesn't have a true H pipe. However, the X has a short horizontal piece in the center, which true X pipes don't have.

With just my O/R H-pipe its not that bad a cruising. I can't say one way or the other about the pypes yet, but if you are looking to wait a week or so I could make some vids and let you know.

Alabama law requires a muffler of some sort to be on exhaust systems. There is no inspections but the police are asshats.

Then that won't fly with the law. If I were running something like headers with o/r H or X or something like that I wouldn't care but that can be seen easily

Add in a short glasspack before the pypes. The won't reduce the sound a lot, they are a muffler, and if anything they'll help remove drone.

None of my friends think my car is a V6, They just all assumed it is a V8. I put My Magnaflow streets on with the K&N drop in air filter at 240 miles on the OD. Drove to Media for the AM all Mustang show, Came home and put the decklid panel on it to get rid of the pie-plate that would have gave it away. Nobody ever seen or heard it when it was stock. There is nothing on my car telling it is a V6 except it does say 3.7 on my rear disc covers but nobody really ever reads them.
With my 18 inch wheels with Pirelli P-Zero Nero tires and the MCA premium front end and deck lid cover it just does not look like a V6 and really does not sound like one.

I have breakfast at Tim's diner on a lot of Saturday mornings with the Hot Rod crowd and I have had guy's tell me when I start it up to leave "Ain't nothing sounds as good as a Mustang." They have no idea it is a V6.

Anything you put on your car will definitely sound way better then the stock mufflers.
It is just that the streets are good sounding without giving you a headache

Where's a good place to purchase and a reasonable price for installation?

American Muscle bar none. The best customer service you will ever receive. And they price match on any product they sell. Also Bama tunes are awesome. Also once you have 50 posts you receive a 6% forum discount .

---------- Post added at 08:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:26 PM ----------

Also they are a fairly simple install for the driveway.

I use our lift in the garage. I would highly recommend it if you have 14 foot and a few grand to spare. But I took mine off with dawn dish soap and sockets. I used jack stands and put the jack on the rear end for safety. Whatever they say, don't cut the rubber hangers out and you can take the coupling off without breaking the weld. I did it. Takes about an hour for the first and the second takes about ten minutes. Ill look around for the picture diagram I used.

I have Ford Racing X-pipe and Roush axleback. It is pretty darn loud for my taste...but I am starting to like it! I'm all about keeping it legal.
