Ummm... I assume you mean you can't mod the car without the risk of voiding your warranty.

You can certainly do cosmetic upgrades and some minor performance mods (like axle back exhaust and "no tune required" cold air intake.

After you have the car a while, any warranty related items would have likely failed by then... And you will start then on bigger mods.

That's what I've done.

Just drive the damn thing like it is designed? Once you're out of warranty, do whatever you want. It's a Mustang. Stock is handles and has more horsepower than most cars. Be happy that you have a nice, new vehicle in this crappy economy.

You've made tons of threads and only been here 4 days. You're paying for the car, right? Why did you choose a V6 when you could have gotten the 5.0 and had more hp without modding?

Sanquin I agree with you but Ford doesnt need to be pissy about Axlebacks and a drop in K&N. yet all the dealers in my area say they are. I told this to a friend who wouldnt believe me. When he took his wifes new Nissan to the dealer for axlebacks and hiflow filter they wouldnt do it and said the warranty would be voided. I hated to win an argument that way but these dealerships are doing the best they can to void Moss Magnuson. It's become a real pain. With my mileage my warrant wont be up for 5 years.

It all depends on your dealer in terms of what theyll install and what theyll call Ford in on. My dealer has no problem with mods other than tuning. If something I added caused a problem, that wouldnt be covered and they probably wouldnt call Ford in on it, but Im just upgrading suspension parts, changing wheels, exhaust, etc, until my warranty runs low, so I have no worries. The lower the warranty gets, the more Ill mod. (I have an extended warranty, but a long mod list. ) A tune changes engine settings so I understand why they wouldnt allow them under warranty. But if theyre going to hassle you because you changed axlebacks yourself, you need to find a more reasonable dealer, if possible. Ive got a couple in my area, so they exist.
