Post 2013 Winter Tires and Wheels

The snow is finally falling...
I will be purchasing some wheels and tires for my performance pack soon.
I'm thinking about getting 17" wheels with Blizzaks.
Per TireRack's suggestion, 215/65-17 tires and the following for wheels:
Size: 17x7.5
Offset: 45mm
Backspacing: 6.06"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114

Anyone else DD their car in the midwest?
Winter tire thread?

I'm in the Chicagoland area and DD my 11'. I put 18" Blizzaks on my stock pony package rims a couple weeks ago and it's a beast in the snow! It's only snowed a handful of times, but I haven't had a issue yet!

Nice, my only concern is ground clearance.
I've got experience driving RWD in bad weather conditions so I'm not too worried.

I'm in the North East ( just got six inches of snow) and I went with 18" blizzaks and ford racing wheels from tirerack. I consider it a must have as mine is a DD and I commute between MA and NH for work. Very satisfied.

Any reason you went with 18" over 17" other than wanting the Ford Racing wheels maybe?

Nothing to do with the FR wheels although I do love them. Simply went with the size of the tires/wheels I was replacing. I felt like the 18's were playing it safe knowing the PP's come with 19's.
