It looks much better than the stock airbox and it sounds amazing. As for gains, you may see a gain of 5whp or so without a tune. You may also see a small gain in mpg. I got mine mainly because I hated the bulky oem airbox. The Airaid really cleans up the engine bay

Sorry... I wasn't trying to get crazy or angry on here. I'm just abrasive. Wasn't trying to pick fights or get off topic. I was just giving my 'overly in your face' opinion as always. Plus Charlie has a sweet pony so of course I'm gonna give him sh1t...

Like I've always said... I would buy it for look and sound alone. But I did feel a difference. No poop.

I did the tune and Boss IM all together so I couldn't say if their was a significant gain from the CAI alone. But it's definitely quicker in the high RPM's.

You're not feeling the hp gain. You're feelin the throttle response. Also the exhaust not is up a little due to more air.

Looks check

Sounds cool check

Minuscule hp gain you will only notice at high rpms if at all check

Worth the money? Doubt it but again it looks cool and sounds good.

That's because of the boss intake manifold though isn't it? The cai helps down low because of the throttle response. Since the throttle is more touchy then it doesn't do that weird stall crap and doesn't jump to 2k right off the bat for no reason. V6 auto owners can feel my pain.

If you are referring to me I was implying that manufacturers charge too much for them for what they are but we pay that for them because that is what the market dictates. Just my opinion as I have one and as you said I like it because it looks good and sounds good.

got mine for free and paid shipping as won it online from american muscle. 10 HP, 1 more mpg and sounds meaner when I hit the gas...im haqppy. best recommendation from me for it...but ask the folks at JLT...they say they can get 12 hp and you can have it color matched to your car ...I did that myself

Yeah, plus the stock intake tube doesn't reach the new position of the TB once on the Boss IM. So it was either a flashy CAI or an $90 adapter. I went for the flash.

One last time....you'll gain nothing for the money for a 3.7 V6 CAI intake install, unless you add the larger throttle body, a tuner, and an exhaust.

For the other "thousands" that bought them, I have no idea what they do for their engine, as I only own a 3.7 Mustang. I have no dog in their race. I only know of the dyno results that were done on the 3.7 V6 with simply a CAI install. It was not worth the money (IMO) if you are looking for HP gains.

So, for a Ford 3.7 V6....Pretty, yes. Sound, yes. HP gains by itself, no.

I'm gonna do it. I understand now its not a useful mod for h.p gain on a stock tune but I've heard the sound difference between a Cai and stock and I'm very impressed. Besides when I'm ready to tune it will be one less thing to buy! I've also read that you can feel better throttle response and since ill be doing roush axel backs at the same time I'm confident I will like it! Thx yall for you input its been very helpful!

I've seen blue stripes on a white mustang and it looks pretty good. But like everyone is saying, black stripes will always looks great on white.

Really? Got me thinking. Maybe I should stay with the stock exhaust for now, I think they sound pretty good anyways. I'll have to think about it. Thx.

This guys system sounds loud as piss like this. I'm copying his setup and adding more. Even the mirrors.

Wow I was just debating this in my head today. They do look good and clean up the engine bay a bit.

OP, here's an AM video with dyno overlays. You can see on the graphs the actual hp and tq gains. Again this is with the hood up, but as Ultarc states once you are rolling at speed the airflow into the engine compartment isn't much of an issue. To me it's interesting how the JLT CAI shows similar gains as JLT+Tune.

You should note the dyno is based on a CAI and tune ...not a CAI alone. I noticed there was no dyno result with just the CAI...why? because they don't want you to know there's no significant gain with just a CAI install on a 3.7 V6; they won't sell many this way!
Impressive numbers for their tune though.
