Barton short shifter

Ok so I just finished installing my new Barton short shifter into my car and omg what a animal this car is now. What a difference from the stock shifter. If your on the edge of getting a new shifter just drop the $ and get the Barton.

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your Sr Performance Shifter. That set up works great and is very affordable!

Let me know if you ever have any questions or need some help!

Ok so today i called late model resto were i bought my barton shifter from and the got a hold of the guys at barton. Come to find out that half way through the 2012 builds ford switched countrys were they were having their transmissions built. Half were built in china the other up to now have been built in canada. And i guess there is a slight diffence in the housing were the shifter bolts in. Causing the shifter to not pop back out on its own from reverse and make it really hard to get in to first gear.

If he calls Barton, they'll send him a revised unit for free and a box to ship his other one back. He probably already knows this or is in the process.

Update.... Got under my car today to find the made in...... Tag but just my luck no tag just part numbers. Ok no biggie right ill just go to my dealer and have them look into in. So 45mins of looking later ford techs cant even find a tag. They run the vin to see if they can tell were its made at. And they have no clue even ford cant tell me. So now im pretty pissed off at this point so now im on the phone with ford customer service. At this point i am so dissapointed with ford its not even funny. With all the crappy things they have done with the 10+ mustangs (two pc. Drive shaft. Multi pc. Flywheel. And this crappy manual trans.) sorry guys/girls thata the end of my rant.

If anyone else has had this problem please let me know. I have tried to call barton but i cant get a hold of them. They guys at american muscle havent heard of anything going on like this.

I have the barton shifter with two post bracket. If im driving it hard and throw my car into fifth gear with some force it will make a grinding sound. Not sure if this is the same reason as the problem you're having.
