I did some searching on here and tried some of the suggestions but I still can't get the radio ID tag on my radio to pop up. I'm trying to sign up for the 6 month trial I got for XM but I can't get the ID to come up. Also on a similar note, is there a passcode needed in case the radio needs to get removed and placed back in? Thanks!
alright so the shop where I got my windows tinted was an audio specialist as well. Anyways I asked about the radio ID Tag and they said that apparently my Mustang didn't have a satellite radio antenna. However, I thought all 2012 Mustangs came standard with XM ready radios? I'm so confused now
There should be a round plastic done on your deck lid if your car has satellite radio. Otherwise the car is sat ready so that means there is a connector on the back of the head unit that the sat antennae plugs into. The pic is the sat antennae on the deck lid
I have a 2013 and i have sync, but mine does not have satellite radio. As the previous
poster said,no antenna no satellite radio. When I tried to program mine,i got the no satelite radio message on the display screen.
Just look on the window sticker If it does not have the Serius radio listed on the standard equipment you do NOT have a Satalite ready radio. If you bought your car used you probably need to stop by your Ford dealer and have them check against your build sheet.
Satellite ready does not mean you have the satellite receiver. It simply means that if you buy the receiver and antnna you can install it on your system.
The check is really easy and doesn't require a trip to the dealer:
If you don't have an antenna bug on the trunk lid then you don't have the Sirius receiver.
If you had it then it would have been activated at delivery and you don't call Sirius to activate your trial. The dealer does it and gives them the codes and data needed.
