If you drive the highway for several tank fillups without resetting the MPG indicator, it will continue to show a high MPG average. If you drive highway, then a day or two of city, your average MPG will drop, and stay at that reading, even after a day or two of highway driving, as you are getting an average MPG reading.

You should reset the MPG reading after every fill up to obtain a true, day to day indication of your MPG reading.

See your owners manual.
Thx for that info. I've never reset it as I thought it would constantly update.

I have trip A set since brand new. trip a is 20.2mpg @ 7000miles
I reset trip B every oilchange. my best trip B was 20.8
Daily, the display is set to show live MPG readings over a 5min increment. and that display is also reset with every fillup. best fillup was 21.4. With this display it shows the line where teh avg mpg is since last reset. we even strive to use that line to do better. not happening.

Don't think the payments would go down unless u refinance but you would end up with less payments.

You can see MPG for each trip??

How do you do that? I can only see one average MPG.

The fuel economy screen can be reset every time you get in the car. Tonight I reset mine on the highway and got about 28mpg going between 70- 55. Trip a and b can also be reset and that one shows a tank average. Mine is usually 22 mpg mixed. Manual v6 with perf pac. Any city driving will drop my instant fuel mileage gauge like a stone. If you did a 600 mile trip all highway you'd probably see decent mpg on the instant screen.

2013s have a LCD display that has more options. I wonder if I can get something like that in my 2012....how does the instant mpg feature look on the 13's? On the 12's it look like cell phone bars. Not sure what each bars increment is but I know that driving on hwy up hill with 2.73 gears it read 3 bars. Now with 3.31 gears I go up the same hill and it reads 2 bars.

There should be some sort of avg mileage feature for 2011. My gf had a 2011 and I was playing with her settings on one if our trips. Was able to get 30+ mpg with her auto v6 I think we gassed up at 350 miles. 2:73 gears. Mine I fill up around 280 miles on the tank

I just got back from a trip about 250 miles total. Drove up and through a mountain pass twice then up and down a mountain. Avg 25.5 mpg the whole trip. 3.31 gears going 70-80 mph. occasional hard accelerations.
