It is not a performance tune, just for the sound at idle from what I understand. Makes it sound like it has cams and provides a "lopey" idle. That is all.

I see you now understand what the Ghost Cam tune is. Just to clear things up, we make some adjustments within tune to give your Mustang that lopey idle! It doesn't affect anything other than the idle tables. As soon as you drive away, all of the settings go back to normal. We do this so that it doesn't affect your drive ability!

However, Unfortunately this tune isn't offered for the V6 as of late. We only offer this file for the 11+ GT's and there's a few requirements. You need to have an O/R Mid-Pipe for this tune to perform properly. With the adjustments we make, some unburnt fuel will get by which could over time, cause your Cats to go clog, that's why we recommend running an O/R system.

Just to clear this up, all of these specialty tunes are included in our free tunes for life program. Everyone who buys the device from us is automatically enrolled into this program! If you didn't purchase the device from us, you can still buy into the program for a one time fee of $150.

I hope this helps clear things up! Let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Is there a deference between a "hybrid" tune and a regular "race tune"? I've been noticing more comments on hybrid.

Yes. Here's the characteristics of the Race tune:

Race (91 - 93 octane) - The race tune will ensure the largest increase in vehicle performance. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area is mandatory. This file is designed for "Race Use Only", as the timing, fuel, and throttle response settings are very aggressive. On automatics, we implement entirely new shift points and firmness settings to further enhance the all-out performance of the vehicle. This tune is perfectly save to use on your everyday Mustang, as long as your conscious of the aggressiveness!

The Hybrid tune has these exact same characteristics, however it also has the added low end torque of the street tune and the mid range power of the performance tune. That's how it got the name "Hybrid" because it's a mix of all three tunes!

-Dan

Holy batman . The hybrid tune is freaking amazing. It's completely awesome. I can't imagine what a 5.0 would be like with a 91 Hybrid tune and 3:73 gears.

im not 100% sure on this but i remember reading on other mustang forums they got rid of it for the v6 cause after awhile it causes problems. It is just for the loopey camshaft sound. Alot of the guys who have the ghost cam tune actually get rid of it all together so im guessing it either caused some problems or they got tired of the car stalling at low speeds or jerking alot in parking lots. Really wish someone would make some camshafts for our 3.7L V6 already. I know a place working on camshafts for our car but they havent perfected it yet they say its tricky with our motors but yet the GT's have camshafts. Also stroker kits are in the works to bring our motor up to a 4.0 or 4.1L so its good to hear they are making new things for us sixxers. here is the site in case anyone wants it. and sorry to go off topic.

My buddy had it for his sixxer but he got the stage 3 cam and he got annoyed by the shaking of the car. It actually never died on him tho. At time it felt as if it would but never did. It sounded awesome tho! Ive heard on some other forums that it eventually messes up the actual cams themselves due to rubbing or knocking of the cams. No real evidence tho so idk. It hasn't been out long enough to really test it so who knows honestly.

Where did your friend get his stage 3 cams from?? Was this on stock valve springs? cause usually after stage 2 you need upgraded valve springs. If he had upgraded valve springs Id love to know who made them for him.

We have played around with the V6 ghost cam idea, however as of right now there's no plans of releasing this option. That may change though, I'll definitely get this sent over to the Bama team! If anything changes, I'll be sure to let you know!

Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Sorry I couldn't be more help!

I'm glad you're enjoying the Hybrid tune Kona! I really appreciate your feedback, let me know if you ever have any questions or need some assistance.

Of course! I'm glad I was able to clear things up. Definitely let me know if you have any further questions!
