????Need to ask a stupid question ????????

My Airaid CAI came in yesterday

They suggest to take the radiator cover off. It is on with clips.
My question is:
How do you remove it without breaking the clips????

Ronnie

Take a flathead and you'll see where a tab is located where you can push up on the push pins. Just pry up and the round piece comes up. Then the rest you can pull up and it'll pop out. Once you get one out, fidget with it some, 80% of your body panels have these things. Also you can only get them at a ford dealer

Veryyyyyyy carefully...

But in all honesty, it's hit or miss. Some break, some don't no matter what technique you use. I broke a couple when I installed my grille, the local pepboys/auto zone have them in stock so no worries if you break a couple!

Btw, nice intake! When are you looking to install it? Can't wait to see what you think of it!

Soon to be installed

It's rainy and stormy today. I'll try to get it on tonight or Friday.

I just went out and looked and it does look like you can install the Airaid without removing the radiator cover at all. I don't know why soeone suggested removing it when it seem there is plenty of room.

For real? I lost one in my front end wreck and I tried finding exact matches. They have half matching styled one but they didn't install right. We don't have a pep boys around here but I hear good things about them.

So you can better see where the inlet port for the intake goes. It opens up a ton of room without the cover and you feel less cluttered

I got it on with no problems at all

I did not remove the Radiator cover. It was not in the way of anything.

Everything fit perfect. The couplers were a PITA but I finely decided to forgo the instructions and put the small end on first and then the large end. It went on much easier.

I sure love the way it looks. I did drive to the store and the Mustang ran OK so I guess I got it installed properly.

Looks great, Ronnie! Did you notice any difference when driving? (Throttle response, acceleration, etc?)

So far it feels the same

I only went up to the store, I didn't get on it at all. Five O:Clock traffic. The car feels the same as before just putting along.

I'm sure it will sound great when I do punch it. I know it looks great when I pop the hood open.

I did have a K&N drop in filter so I'm not looking for a great difference.

Send a message via ICQ to curtin1991
You could sell the drop in filter and make a few bucks back!
