vibration or whining

I just got gears and a drive shaft. If the pinion angle on the driveshaft isn't perfect will it vibrate or make a weird noise, or is it going to be the gears?

It's really confusing, I guess it might still be the gears breaking in Idk makes me nervous though

Your car shouldnt whine at all!! If its whining go back before ur gears grind and slowly mess up. Please dont just leave it like that bro!

I don't think it's gear whining though I don't want to leave it. Its not loud it's more like a hum that's why I think its the driveshaft. I've checking it twice the backlash is good and the pattern is nearly perfect on the gears. That's why I'm confused

If its ur drive shaft then thats an even bigger problem! If its vibrating then u do know it will blow up and high speeds! The point of a new drive shaft is to shed weight and be able to rotate even faster but if its slightly off even a tiny bit, when at high speeds it will end up vibrating more and more to the point of it exploding. Be very careful and try and pin point the issue.

If its whining only during acceleration that sounds like a pinion bearing. It could be the preload wasn't set correctly, the bearing could be damaged... I would take it back and get it fixed.

I was in the same spot I did 3.55s though because I'm more top end and i will probably be boosting soon and 3.73s don't give you much top end

I haven't got the right tune yet though. But I just did gears, driveshaft, and headers and x pipe this week so much better. What all do you have done to yours?

Headers make it sound so nice and gives you quite an up in power as well. Do you have axle backs or full exhaust?

Its really not that loud except for under full throttle. At cruising its the same as just having axle backs it doesn't get real loud till about 4k but it still sounds beautiful, at least I think so

Did you get a noticeable improvement when you put your drive shaft in? I have 3.73's installed, had them for about a month. My gears were silent till I lowered the car, now I can just bary hear them on decel but I have to almost try to hear them, if you didn't try to hear them you never would. I have a DSS aluminum 1 piece literally sitting in my room that I still need to put in, I got it because it had the CV joint over U joints front and back. Think I may put that in tomorrow, I'm glad others have this and are lilting it.

I think so! But I did gears, a driveshaft, and headers the same day so I couldn't tell what the difference was because I didn't do it individually. I threw it on the dyno today so I wanted to make sure I'd be good going above 140. But it cut a good fifteen pounds off and I think acceleration and shifting is a lot smoother with it. I also have upper and lower control arms a 2 inch drop and mine whine a little bit too, its the same as you I have to try to hear it. If you have it for sure put it on though it helps and it makes it where you don't have to adjust the pinion angle. It cuts down a lot on vibration too.

I will put it on as soon as I get the correct bolts from the drive shaft shop. The hex bolts I got barely thread into the adaptor plate and I found that I was not the only one with this issue. Apparently, quite a few slipped out the door with this issue. It's a simple fix but i will have to wait for the new bolts before installing this now.....

Yea... That will happen. I did CAI, tune, 3.73, lowered my car and put an in dash screen in within 3 months of buying my car... I still have the DS and some suspension work to do then I need an alignment cuz my camber angle is all screwed up
