has anyone painted or changed out the chrome grill surround on a 2013?

Hi everyone! just bought a 2013 black V6 Premium PP and leather Recaro seats and was wondering if anyone has blacked out the chrome grill surround or changed it out yet? i'm trying to black out my car, already have tint and smoked vinyl side marker lights, jut not a fan of chrome on the outside of the car. I was thinking taking it off and plasti-diping it, but would rather have a gloss black look. Post some pics of your front grills and what you used if you can, thanks!

I just separated the insert from the chrome ring and sent it to Sanguin. I swapped my grilles out for mca ones a long time ago. A few have plastidipped theirs.

did you just leave yours off, or are you getting it painted? is it easy to remove? do you need to take off the whole front bumper, or just the radiator cover? thanks for the quick response.

I replaced them entirely with the mca grilles. I just put tape down on the paint and pulled hard and they came out. The inside separates from tye outside but it is difficult to take apart without breaking tabs. Most people just tape it off and paint it with plasti dip found at home depot.

good looking stang there fox21. i'm also going the blackout stealth route, but no blackout headlights, those are illegal in Delaware and the cops will bust you for tinted tails, and headlights. what did you use to blackout your side markers? tinted vinyl? i just put on tinted laminx on all lenses except for tails (which are tinted from the factory, a plus) and the headlights. and got the windows tinted today, 35% front, 20% rear and rear sides. cops hate window tint here also, they love writing tickets for it here, so the 35% won't get me in trouble with them. 20% and darker on front sides and they will stop you. what did you use to paint your grill surround, plasti-dip?

I have a 2012, But at first I plastidipped mine, then I went and bought a billet grille for it. If you have the premium it may be a little hard but you'll get it done. Good luck!!

The grill i used dip also have 25% tint and all of the lights are tinted even 3rd brake lower reflectors and tail inserts, really going for a full black out look
