Transmission Whine

Okay, maybe I'm being paranoid, but, I just don't know. I have a 2012 V-6 with about 2600 miles, and I'm experiencing a constant transmission whine that gains in pitch as speed increases. Anybody have any clue if that's normal, or if I need to have it looked at

Automatic or manual transmission?

In either type, a whine is not normal. Are you sure it's the transmission? Coming from the front of the car? A rear end can whine as well.

Offer some cheese to go with the whine. Sorry, bad joke.

Take it in, as you should have the 100K drivetrain warranty that would cover it.

It's a manual, and it sorted itself out

There are some MT82s that whine really, really bad. Sometimes the dealerships say it's "normal" and others have had their transmissions replaced because of it.

If it does it again, take it to the dealership and get it documented. Hopefully if it decides to keep doing it, you'll get a replacement.
