He wants to know what he will do? Only way to find out is if he goes to the track...

Too many variables to give a honest answer.

Not even that, the main thing being his trans manual or auto makes a lot of difference. Then if its a manual, it comes down to driver. That's why I don't respect these ppl that take a auto and race it and then they r like I'm so better than you when all they did is hold it to the floor. <- no skill

That's what I meant we don't know if he can shift good if he is manual. Just tell him to take it to the track.

I know I'm going to get scoulded by the auto guys saying its better than a manual, but an auto takes all of the skill out of racing.

And most importantly, the fun. Nothing like running through the gears @ redline

Not all of it. It still takes skill. And the new manuals don't speed shift worth a damn IMHO.

Well on my 12 i can put it in first and shift 123 then drive will be 456 automatically. With 3:31 rear end id be at the end of a quarter at the end of 3rd. Sometimes on the hiway it pays to drop it in 3rd and be prepared for a lane change. The only thing im not sure of is if I put it in first wether the computer will over ride it at some point. But its still good for the twisties. I like the way the 13 works.

The 12 won't hold Idk why its weird trying to do a dyno sucks. Except my sport shift barely works now, I want to get the TCI but I do higher speed rolls and going 3-4 isn't worth 500 bucks lol

Well that's dumb. Who came up with that idea? Some pencil pusher? What's a TCI? What's wrong with your sport shift?

I found the TCI. Not sure of its advantage though if the 12 won't hold the gear. So I wonder if I put mine in first and floor it will it still shift through the gears on its own?

I guess the those that run an auto in the pro drag series have no skill either. In any event, they smile all the way to the bank.

Ford engineers at their best lol. The computer forces it to go through the gears, in the 13 with the sport shift you can hold it on red line till it blows up. With the tci it will hold the gear I just think it's dumb for the same thing as stock to only have 123 I do rolls so it wouldn't benefit me. With all my added power the sport shift can't keep up and with the stock computer I can't change it.

Did a test today. Car put manually in second gear in my 2012 automatic. Floored it. It held all the way to redline.
Would it have shift if I let it go to the rev limiter? I don't know because I shifted to 3rd at redline.
Some have lead me to believe it would shift on its own before redline.

I don't think it would shift! Only the 2013+ have the sport shifter which shifts on its on or u can manually shift with the +/- button.

if you let it shift on its own will the car be faster than if it was just in drive?

It's more aggressive! I notice that it stays at higher RPMs & it doesn't downshift as quickly as it would in drive! When I went to the track I did all my runs in S mode! Next time I go I wanna compare S vs D!

Well it did for me, let me launch from a higher rpm and it'd hit the rev limiter!
