I know what you mean
I drove the GT and I really like my 3.7 a lot better. The big difference in having a GT is the prestige of it being a V8 engine. Nobody I hang around with has ever asked me about what engine is in my car. They all just took it for granted I have a V8. With the Magnaflow streets and the pie-plate removed there is nothing saying or sounding like a six on my car.
I had to go to the VA hospital this morning. I left the house at 5:am and went the interstate. There was no traffic, the weather was absolutely perfect and my Mustang felt sooooo good I could not believe it is mine. The exhaust note at 70 MPG (Grin) was just plain music to my old ears. No Drone, Just a nice very deep sound I love so much. My 3.7 V6 is perfect. It looks great, sounds great and I would not trade it for a GT even up. I don't race anymore or hot lap or Auto-X so the V6 automatic is ideal for me. I love my MCA Mustang and plan on keeping it for a very long time.
