Hey clamphier, when you gapped yours, was there residue in your manifold? If so, what did you clean it with?

Why are you removing spark plugs when it ran fine PRIOR to the CAI install? Rule out the CAI first. Doesn't make sense that the plugs are gapped wrong from the factory if the engine ran fine prior to a CAI install.

What the heck; check the air in the tires too. Maybe they are low, causing a thump thump noise that's translating to a harmonic that's being picked up by the MAF sensor, causing the CPU to readjust the fuel pressure to the fuel rails, forcing a lean mixture!

Keep it simple; start with the last item that was installed when the symptoms occured. Suspect that item.

Its at idle not only driving. And there was a little bit and i just sprayed a shop towel with brake clean. But the extra air could have thrown of the air to fuel which could cause pre detonation so in turn regap the spark plugs

Good luck. Keep us informed as to the outcome and final solution.
