Catbacks

Are the catback systems worth the bigger 1/4 bigger piping? Also if I do one, I can't switch out the axle backs I take it because they are straight clamped and not ball clamped like the stock. I'm looking at the magnaflow streets, their respective cat back and roush. Wanna eliminate the rasp and if possible not do headers for awhile.

Opinions on catbacks?

Once you buy a catback of that size, your stuck. All axle backs for V6 will be stock size. In my opinion, upgrade to V8 2.75" and just buy GT axle backs after that. However, having a GT catback is too much volume and you'll see a decrease in HP due to a lack of back pressure.

Never mind. Just saw you have a Boss. Worth the money. That engine will blow out hard. Don't waste your time or money with axles on a Boss.

Oh. Okay. Makes sense enough. In that case, run FI before you step up over axle size... You really get nothing from it in V6. In fact, you lose power going so big.

The boss 302 is the cubic in of the engine as our car is 227 he made his a boss 227. Its literally based on the cubic in of the engine. From what I understand

I don't know what a Boss 227 is, but a 227 is a V6 size engine. Maybe it was a joke? I dyno, RWHP 365 and 340TQ with tweaked hybrid tune. Best I ran was a 13.3. And that was against a POS Evo. (Can't help it, military. They own all types) and his 28psi turbo Evo 8 ran a 14somerhing.

But again, only ever dyno'd in Deutschland. They go off of something called KpW, not HP, I've been told its the same but who knows.

That's a ridiculous number for bolt sons but could be right? Either way that's sweet

Oh boy... Catback and over axle pipe2.50", with Pypes axle back, Airaid tune required CAI, Bama 'tweaked' hybrid tune, BBK throttle body, LCA's and PH bar, both JLT, GMax tires, 295 rear. 3.73 gears from Ford Racing. Borla LT's with shorty o/r x pipe, (I really want the one piece AL drive shaft!!) other than that, JLT catch can, bunch of MMD cosmetics (louvers, scoops and trim). Bunch of small stuff, and a few okay things. Ain't pushing nearly close to FI. Would if I had the money.

---------- Post added at 10:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:20 PM ----------

Like I said, I may be wrong, I think it's the same, but DE does KpW... Their version of horsepower... May be less because euro trash sucks. I honestly have not gotten a clear answer. I'd love to just do it in the good ol USA and get an answer I like...

Lucky you Charlie! You aftermarket Demon! I'm cook with the AM one because it hits 8,600rpm with no failure or even smell. I don't plan on going that fast. Charlie, where'd you get yours?!

Hybrid tune is the biggest. I got a dude who does tune and he tweaked mine off if data logs. That's what his **** said, but all in German, and I've been told KpW is the same, least he did, and that's what it was.

He is making a boss "clone" out of his V6, the 227 is the V6 engine so he named it the "Boss 227"

It's 2.50 piping. Frees up like 10 or so hp vs. 1-3 on over axles. Just assuming

It's 227 cubic inch motor. Much like the boss is a 5.0 or. 302 motor. My car is cloned after the patriot edition boss at Barrett Jackson.

So I finally heard an H with the magnaflows. Ick.

So what can I run on mags to make them louder. And what about roush and the borla touring with headers. I know the roush cracks and pops from what Charlie has said and that one video on YouTube.

I dyno'd with the stock 2.25 and 3.0 inch... All my German buddy had. He didn't have mustang pipe at the 2.75 inch stock.

Also, if you think that's impressive, go on AM and watch their videos. They turn a few ponies into beasts with bolt on, and of course, eventually add FI, but before they do, they're running some bad *****es with just bolt on.

What do you mean intake manifold? He is making his car look just like the patriot edition Boss, but it's a V6. Kind of plain and simple to understand (no offense intended at all, I just don't know how else to word it)

Nah, it's fine. No offense taken. I think the confusion is, I have never heard of the patriot edition(which is bullsht because I eat, sleep ad breathe the Army!) (jk) But, more seriously... I was curious what intake manifold he has, because the Boss has the iconic '302' intake manifold. Or is this all just cosmetic conversion?
