Gear install?

How hard is it to install gears?

The gears have to be "meshed", which requires shimming. If you've never done this before, it's best to pay someone that does this.

Plus, your speedometer will be offand so the PCM will need to be flashed, unless you have a tuner that performs this.

I've installed every mod i have, with no help from anyone except for two. I let the 'pros' do my stripes and my gears. Just saying.............................

I've had my gears sitting in my room for about 3 months. Haven't had time.. But I should now!

So would it be best to put my car back to stock so they can flash my PCM for the new gears and then put my tune back on afterward. Is getting the PCM flash only something a certified Ford center can do?

If u have bama tunes u can just get them to write a new tune for your new gears. You may actually need to do this anyways if they flash ur computer and you load your old tune your speedo may be off.

I understand that part and yes I have a BAMA tuner. At any point after getting the gears put on that I revert back to stock, I still want it to read correctly

Oh okay gotcha yeah I would go back to stock have it flashed then when the device saves your new stock tune you will be good to go.
