Ahh , no you are wrong. In fact you are completely backwards on what part of Canada radar detectors are legal in! Also even if you have one that is not on you are still ****ed!You are correct about jammers being illegal in all of canada.I can't speak about US laws. Google is your friend here. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radar_detector

In Ontario we already pay the highest insurance rates
in North America.
+1 when we cross into Ontario the speed/ fine ratio is one of the first signs we see.Its like when we cross from Vermont back in to quebec within 150 feet the first sign you see is "radar detectors are illegal".

So, if you don't know anything about U.S. laws, why are you trying to correct me again? I believe the original poster of this thread lives in the U.S., so there is no point in continuing the argument about Canada.

BTW, Don't use wikipedia for information regarding laws. Anyone can write whatever they want there. Here is where I got my information, an official site.

Edit--I miss typed the "except" part. They are legal in the areas I posted before, i've edited the comment.

So, either you misread my post about what is legal and what is not, or...you're wrong.

Thank you come again...
I wasn't correcting you about US laws if you can actually read the English language, I was merely correcting you about Canadian laws. Don't try to give anyone false information about what's legal or not if you actually don't know the laws yourself! I for one live in a province that you say is legal but in fact you are WRONG! I was originally answering blackedstang's question about Canadian legality of radar detectors. Again I fail to see where I was correcting you about US laws??? BTW I like the part where you corrected your post. I knew I should have quoted it!!!! You originally said b.c Alberta and Saskatchewan were illegal.

Disclosure: I always drive very safe, cautiously, and respectful. I would rather not see comments about how i should be driving and how i don't need one. Plenty of people use radar detectors and do not have bad driving habits. Just the peace of mind would benefit me.

Thanks for your help, guys/gals!
Just for the Piece of Mind? Why don't you just admit you don't want to get caught speeding?

Then all is good, that's all i was saying you were wrong about. I apologize for my previous comment to you and in no way was implying anything about US laws. Hope we are all good. Sometimes miss types happen and I should have asked you if you were sure about your comment before trying to correct you. Again sorry dude,

So my batteries ran out last night on the way home. Pulled over, talked to the cop about sports cars in general. Got a ticket for 87 in a 70. I need a hardwire cable for the escort s2.

I always carry at least six "AA" batteries.

My Bel will warn me when the batteries are about to die. I just try to replace them before they are totally gone. My flashlight I carry in the glove box also uses AA's.

No it came with a case, extra suction cups, extra mount, and 8 batteries. I usually keep it stocked but I forgot. Boy am I gonna pay. It's saved me through every other ticket though.

I have a 9500ix and its worth every cent. I do a lot of driving on country highways, toll roads and open highways going to the beach. Not saying I do it ALL THE TIME but I've been known to go 20 above the limit and I've had numerous accounts of my radar saving my butt.....

I have heard that here in AZ a different band is used (mostly I have heard that its by the photo cops) and its a band that isnt usually used in the USA or something, and all the detectors that say they support it, have a huge amount of reviews saying that it doesn't really or that it does but barely to the point of useless.

Have you noticed any issues here in AZ?

Never heard of that. Valentine detects all bands that are legal in the U.S., and ti does a great job. Maybe you're thinking of a cobra or something. A bad radar detector wont pick up photo at all.
