Talking New to the forum

I'm new to the forum and this is my first post on the v-6
Mustang forum. I accidentally posted on the v-8 forum by mistake earlier
today(still don't know my way around) I special ordered my Gotta Have It Green
manual trans Mustang last September and it came in on Halloween. I recently finished
the last of the exterior mods I wanted to do and all that is left is to add a supercharger package. I'm waiting a little while on that till I know the engine is OK
as the supercharger will void my warranty. Can't wait for the 475 horses! In the alterations department, I added the Boss 302 rear black spoiler, Boss style side
stripes with a much shorter front fender stripe and the words BOSS MUSTANG.
Boy did I get hammered on the v-8 sight over the use of the BOSS word! I agree
that it probably implies more power than the car currently has, but that will be rectified in the near future. Nobody who knows Mustangs is going to think it is
a BOSS 302, and if the person who sees it is that dumb it doesn't matter anyhoo!
Those of you who dislike the word BOSS on the car please contain yourselves from
criticizing it's use. I respect your opinion but I like it and it stays. Other additions
are the BOSS grills, Roush front hood scoop, Roush front spoiler, Gloss Black
hood stripe, Shelby style charcoal wheels, pirelli p-zero tires, caliper covers,
Ford rear fender scoops, aftermarket roof scoops, and black Boss style round
shift knob with running horses on the sides and the shift pattern printed in white.
The side stripes are reflective and turn white at night when hit by headlights.
Other cars in the stable are a 69 GTO convertible, 70 Chevelle SS 396 hardtop,
79 Trans Am, and 2010 transformers yellow Camaro. The mustang is my only modified car, the others are stock restorations. I am in the car repair business
so cars are on my mind 24/7! I guess I am a certified gearhead. Anybody on the
forum who has a car repair related question, I'll be glad to help if I can. I've been
working on cars since 1968, so I do have considerable experience in the school
of hard knocks. Here are some pics of my mustang......

I have no plans for suspension mods because the car handles so well
as is and I don't want a harsher ride, but I will add any driveline strengthening
items that are deemed appropriate for how I will use it at the same time I add
the supercharger. Certainly a stronger driveshaft is probably called for. Since
I don't intend to drag race the car, I suspect the rear end will hang together
for a while. As far as the transmission, it will remain till it blows up, and if and when
it does it will be replaced with a Shelby unit. I have read that the transmissions
are known to have problems, although mine's been fine so far.

welcome Grreen.

Don't worry to much about going on the GT forum, The GT people love our 3.7 V6 forum because there are always some GT people on here. This forum seems to be more active then the other ones anyway.
Your Mustang is really great looking. When you decide Super Charger you should contact Shelby America and check out their SC package for the 3.7. Get it from them and you can actually call your car a Boss or Shelby 3.7 and nobody can say a darn thing. I love the stripe on your Mustang. It looks really good.

I have a Candy Red 2012 MCA premium and I have been asked by a few people if it is a boss 302. Some people just don't know. My friend just bought a boss 302 and it is really nice. We were at the diner the other morning and a guy came in asking who owned the two Boss 302's in the parking lot. Jack just said,"It's us. and the guy said "Nice cars" Mine is a V6 Automatic. It sure don't say Boss 302 on it like Jacks does.

Jacks real Boss 302

Welcome to the forum. Very nice Mustang you have.

Ther will be those that say striping or adding GT500 or Boss parts to a non GT500 or Boss is fine, as long as it's not badged as such. Seems to start a few rants now and again. My say is as long as your making the payments, you get to do what you want.

Welcome aboard!

Woot, another GHIG brother.

I really like those wheels and the red calipers look really nice under them. One day I'll get back to doing working on my car and not toying with other stuff that takes my money/time lol.

You should look into adding the Boss 302 rear bumper insert.

I like the look of the bumper insert. What is involved in installing
it.....is it a bolt on or more complex? Also, I saw a mention of a Grand Prix GTP
as well in your post. I have a 2000 GTP that is my beater driver and park at the mall
car. I love the way it runs, drives and handles, but it breaks about every two weeks.
I've probably spent enough on repairing that car to buy a new Boss 302!

The install is quite involved, but worth it. Here's a thread that will give you an idea of what needs to be done.

Bumper insert requires cutting the bumper where the factory lip is I think. Look up the GT500 insert install on LMR. Should be identical.

Yeah, I had a '00 SE I did a full L67 swap in, with XP cam, headers, and everything. It was a pretty raw car until I sold it recently. Never had an issue with it besides brake line breakage due to salt corrosion.

The '98 GTP is a cheap car I picked up last year. It's been sitting waiting for me to get time to slap a trans in it.
