yeah dude 3.7s are faster than 4.6 ONLY when modded but 5.0s are a different story. I recently tested a 5.0 and felt my car was faster but I did get beat by my friends 5.0 with tune and cai which is to be expected. he was gonna get the camaro ss and I convinced him to get the 5.0!

Alright guys what do you think of this, the dealership made me a killer deal on this 2008 gt California special. Low miles. Beautiful car. Should I do it?

What are the terms? What are you getting for yours and what are you paying for theirs?

Beautiful car, it seems like you have a tough decision ahead of you.

Honestly, I like your 10' v6. You built it up well and it looks nice. You know where I stand on trading up to a v8.

in my opinion a 3.7 is better. jus enjoy it until you can afford the 5.0 or you can jus keep modding your 3.7!

Yes, the 2010 is basically identical. Besides the single exhaust.

Yea... It is the 4.0. Damn, I thought the 3.7 started in 2010 but it wasn't until 2011. I learn something new everyday.

That being said, I would trade for at he very least a 2011+ v6 or 5.0. You probably won't see any difference in price between the 3.7 and a pre 2010 v8.

Private sale is always the way to go, if you have the patience. Spend a few hours making a good craigslist ad and maybe let your social networks know too. Good luck.

Edit: SHOULD OF GOT THAT GT/CS! Ahhh I love those

It's tough man. I graduated in 2011 and drove the Jeep all through high school and college. When I landed my first job in my career last year, I rewarded myself with the Mustang I have today. I still had to be financially smart due to different factors and that's why I went with the 3.7. My point is, don't rush it and enjoy what you have at the moment. I assume you're young and want everything right now and trust me, I know that feeling. But as hard as it is, wait. Wait till you can prioritize and make the correct financial decision when factoring in every variable. (Trust me, a 30 rack of PBR is going to be like gold to you in a few short months.)

After our wedding in May of 2014, I plan on trading the 3.7 in for a RS3 5.0 when I can afford and justify the upgrade. Good things come to people who wait for the right moment and work hard for their belongings.

Not a problem! But I don't know what else is left for you to do, you're pretty well modded!

Thanks, I wish the Fiance would say that once in awhile...

The RS3 is a fantastic car, I love everything about it. We'll see though, those are just rough plans and you never know what's going to happen in a year or so.

If she agreed with you that would be too easy. Lol. I will be green with envy if you get the rs3. I have pined over them since 2005.
On the bright side I am looking into getting a coyote in 2 years.

You are making the right decision waiting to be able to afford it. I traded in my 06 GT for the 3.7 to help with finances. Well, things turned around. Tomorrow I will purchase a house 100% cash. I will pay all debts including cars at the end of the month. Will I keep the 3.7 or trade it on a 2013 or 14 special Mustang? I love this 3.7 and it is a fun car and drives much better than the 05/09 imo. Just miss the 8 cylinder roar...

Congrats on the house!
I agree. I loved my 07 v6 but the 2012 I have is by far superior.

Thanks. You too. To the original post. Imo. Yes. 10 is working for you and it makes financial sense to keep it. I would do just that. The 10 is a cool car. Lots of college students would feel lucky to have it. . That was really my point. Wait for the right time. Besides, the 15 will come out and devalue the last gen cars and u will get a much better deal on a used 4.6 GT... Maybe even a 5.0 if that works for your budget then..

To be honest, this generation v6 with the 3.7 is fantastic if you want to mod and race. If I were you, (considering you said price keeps you looking at the 2010 GT). I would get a 2011 V6 and skip the GT all together. I bet a 2011 V6 with a tune alone, would beat the 2010 GT. I hate to say it but I think 2010 was a bad release year for mustangs. I wept when a friend of mine told me he was getting a 2010 v6 (2 months away from the release of the 2011's) 2 months!

hell, it still makes me sad.
