Bama tuner

So I'm finally gonna get one at the end of the month. I only have a bbk cai as far as mods go. Should I feel a huge difference with the tunes and a auto transmission?

You'll definitely notice a huge difference from a CAI and Tune combo kit! You'll notice more power, torque, acceleration, drive ability, gas mileage, throttle response and so much more. Having an Automatic also will benefit you greatly, we'll make the shift points very fast and aggressive!

Please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance in the near future! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Just got my tuner and I am loving it!! I have only used the street tune so far but it is amazing!!! I have heard ppl talk about a "hybrid" tune. But I was told that they don't offer it on the 99-04 model. Is this correct or not?

Is it worth it to get the tuner if my car is absolutely stock? I am really kind of pleased with the stock intake, so I'm not thinking CAI at the moment. I am thinking of changing from the stock 2.73 gear in the future though. I'm still torn on what gearing I want to go with.

Stop being torn bro. There is nothing to think about. Being that your car is completely stock I can already tell you don't track race or run the stripe. GO WITH 3:73 GEARS BRO. You will have no regrets and get a performance tuner as well. Trust me. You will love it!

A tune is definitely still worth it, even on a bone stock car. You'll pick up about 20+ RWHP and 20+ RWTQ, from just a tune alone! When paired together with a CAI, you'll notice a little more power, torque and noise but it's not a must if your happy with the factory system. The tune alone will give you huge improvements in Power, Torque, Acceleration, Drive ability, Gas Mileage, Throttle Response and so much more!

I would also go with gears. 3.73's or 4.10's are going to be one of the most beneficial mods you can do for your V6! I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance in the near future. Within the next couple of weeks, I think I will be picking up one of your Airaid CAI + tuner combos. I'm just a lil excited.

Yeahhhhhhh I'm close to pulling the trigger on getting the tune. I haven't even made a purchase yet, but already know AM is a great company to deal with.

My main concern is the factory warranty, and I know the Magnusson Moss warranty act protects me. It's just that Ford could have a pretty solid argument for any drivetrain failures being the fault of the tune.

Help ease my mind!

I got my performance tuner from AM 6 months into my new 2011 v6. The car runs great and no engine issues. No drive train issues. I can't find one internet document that shows American Muscle had destroyed a engine or drive train. Years back there was a issue on the v8 model with the #8 something plug but AM took care of the fix. I'm confident I will get 200k miles with running my tune.

Pull the trigger bro. You will love it

Two best mods I have done on my Stang were:

3.73 gears
BAMA tune

The gears are a night and day mod. The tune is required for anything over 3.31, and you will notice immediate results.

As I said in another thread, I just test drove a 2013 GT, and my modded V6 felt every bit as quick as that stock GT (3.15 rear gears, I believe). Of course, you put an intake, tune, and gears on a GT as well, but that's another story

I vote for 3.55:1 if you ever wish to turbo. 3.73:1 if not.

If one has an automatic then 3:73 gears are perfectly fine for a turbo or supercharger. If someone is definitely not interested in putting a super or turbo charger on then 3:73 gears is where its at, manual or auto.

Yeah, mine just shipped today. I'm excited. I asked for a slight variation on the normal request form tune and never heard from them. So I will wait and see if they went the way I was thinking, or if they just put the standard tunes on there.

They will make the three you asked for. Just installed mine. Will know more on how it went tomorrow.

You guys will be saying what the heck did I wait so long to get this. The performance tuner is a huge power adder and its a night and day difference. I have been running mine for over 2 years now. Got it 6 months after I purchased my 11 v6. Love it. The shift points for us automatic guys and girls are freaking amazing. Throttle response is greatly improved and car pulls much harder off the line. My favorite is the hybrid tune which its what I'm running. Really helps with the off line acceleration and keeps pulling mid to high range. Get 3:73 gears down the road and you won't believe you have a little sixer. People have no idea how powerful the v6 engines are now a days. The sixers today are not what they used to be 4 plus years back.

Don't sweat the tuner gonna mess up your engine and cause damage. American Muscle has the best track record. If all these cars were getting jacked up from AM tunes then they wouldn't be selling them like gang busters. AM has an amazing track record and you never hear about AM tunes blowing up an engine or transmission. Hail AM.

Do not fear the performance tuner. I was on the fence for 6 months before I pulled the trigger and man am I glad. Debatable AM does not make the most powerful tune compared to others but its 99.9 % safe and its HP and torque gains are huge. I would rather have a few less HP tunes and a safe tune for the engine and transmission . AM all the way.

Happy with mine so far. Fuel economy is worse by 2mpg so far.
May try the other tunes.

BUT performance is improved. Gears hold better, don't need to drop a gear to from 35 to 40. I think everything is kind of relearning. The battery was unplugged fot over an hour. Then the tune was applied.

Bear with me guys....
I am not into the racing scene. It's a summer only car, used for putting around the city and highway touring on vacations. As you know passing is a transmission issue when stepping on it as the down shifts seem to go into neutral before selecting a gear. Fuel consumption is also a concern for me.

I have stock intake configuration with a KN filter and thinking of the tuner (street tune).

My questions are:
Will I notice improvement in gas consumption as they advertise?
How about passing and shifts?
Considering my use & the fact that is about $500 (Canada) is it really worth it?
What other benefits will I see?

Thanks for any feed back................

With a street tune u will see an increase in MPG but that's only if u stay off the throttle & only about 1-3 MPG! The throttle response is definitely improved & the shift points are improved & more firm with an auto! Might also want to take into consideration that ur warranty might be voided (depending on ur dealer) b/c of the tune. So is it worth $500? That's totally up to u! I love mine but then again I wanted it for the performance aspect not the MPG.
