Bahahahahaha.

A good tune for an auto. There are different shifters for autos too tho.

For manual, u can change most anything. Shifter, top only or Internal. Clutch, clutch adjuster.

Now there is no way a computer can shift faster then me. They may be more consistent, but not faster at shifting. Unless it's one of those crazy dual-clutch transmission they use in the Ferrari's.

Both transmissions are good

The Made in China manual that seems to have a lot of problems along with the dual mass pressure plate is a very good transmission when it is not having problems. I think almost all of the problems they have are due to most people don't know how to use them.
Riding the clutch.
Slipping the clutch.
Flat shifting.
Just a few of the problems.

You rarely hear anything about a bad Automatic. They also can have driver problems.
Such as:
Flooring it in neutral and dropping it into gear.
Going from reverse to drive while moving.
Coasting in neutral.

As far as performance there is not much difference at all. I did not track my Mustang but I did once track a 1998 Corvette with an automatic and never had a problem. I actually did as good just leaving it in drive as I did manually shifting it. My last car was a John Cooper Works Mini with a six speed manual. It was great on the road course but more work then the Auto Vette.

My automatic vette did 12.6 at 111mph on the drag strip and would top out at 180MPH at Daytona.

Picture is at Daytona Speedway- Not on the public highways.

They are a choice of what you would want, Neither one is any better or worse then the other. I personally like both but prefer the automatic.

Ronnie

All fun and games aside my apologies on my part for jacking your thread OP, with that being said do you have an idea of what your looking for? I always ask that because you will get a million answers on mods that will be great but not what you looking for. I know what worked for me was AM website, they have everything separated from Drivetrain, engine etc etc. I'm focused more on drivetrain right now for my AUTO ....

Not if yours turns into Megatron. He's as slow as a 05-09' GT who thread hacks.

Ahhhh you need not worry about that, just take time to study what your car can do for you first ya'know. But it's pretty simple it's like a man with a screwdriver "manual" and a man with a Drill "automatic" the screwdriver is more controlled by hand while the drill does the work for you. So either way BOTH get the job done ....

You could get a tranny cooler and pan if you want more capacity and cooling. One piece driveshaft comes to mind too.

Hi, I agree about the consistency, that is what delivers performance and almost always faster than the mean shifter on the track (thats a statistics word mean, not an emotion word mean

I would imagine based on your statement you are a consistent performance manual shifter, and your MT82 is all setup fine and dandy with no issues, bad lube, etc; and if so could indeed outperform a tight hydraulics computer controlled box (no longer are they slush boxes).

On open tracks that my last boss ran her Lotus on, Consistent corners won the laps, not how fast you could do a corner once.
