Well in a few months I'm starting my new job which will mean almost twice the money plus I won't be driving my car to work. So it may be possible.

Well then you'd probably be ok but depending where you take it could be down for up to a month... best of luck though!

Thanks man! Maybe before then TCI will make a ratchet shifter for 13-14 and I won't have to go through so much crap.

Why invest that much into a used car now? I understand the appeal, but it's a fool's errand.

I drove a manual for my first 13 years of driving before buying an AT Mustang. I have wanted to go back and buy a manual numerous times. Other times, I was really happy I had an AT.

It doesn't make you a big man to drive a stick. It's just a personal preference. It's also a personal preference whether you want to flush your money down the toilet. If you want a manual, I'd sell the AT (plenty of people want an AT) and buy a manual. You will NEVER recoup the investment if you swap the trans.

Perfectly said!!! Swap the car not the transmission IMO.

I took my car in to trans shop and the guy there saw my car tested it and concluded more than enough stuff was messed up to jus fix individual parts. he recommended to rebuild it. I was like do whatever it takes. he then called me n asked if I wanted a 6R80 trans from a raptor because there was a raptor there for sale. I didn't even think that was possible but he said he was really interested to see how a 3.7 would run on one and said it would be a significant upgrade from jus an OEM trans with heavy duty clutch flywheel torque converter etc. so I agreed. it took 3 weeks total for install and parts but in the end I got a beast out of it. he said its capable of handling more than enough hp for me. I only have around 500 hp ( not to rear wheels obviously) but my car feels like an absolute beast.

Well that's sweet I'm sure it is pretty strong I wish I could try that... so it wasn't a direct bolt on though?

It is the same, I just realized it. The mustangs have the same transmissions as the f150s and expeditions.

Must have just been a bad trans from the factory... but yes the autos are good to a 1000 stock and you can tune them real nice

Pretty sure that's not a transmission. That's a type of clutch....

---------- Post added at 10:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:56 PM ----------

I had a Procharger just sold it, did you just do the normal Procharger kit?

I got the tuner kit. not much of a difference in the base one. I have 80 lb injectors tho. that's what helps a lot.

tbh it was kind of experimental for him. I knew what I was getting into. he said if anything bad happened he was responsible. I'm not dumb. I wouldn't let him out something in there without some kind of warranty on his part. because of that he's gonna forge my motor for half off. it was a good experience and it worked out well for me
