To obtain these 31 mpg plus milage there is now way anyone is shifting after 2k and having any fun at all with their cars!! Maybe I'm leaking fuel. Lol. The best I ever got was straight highway driving for a three hour trip I got 8/100 km or 29 mpg. But as soon as I hit and started to drive around town it went right up to 11/100 km. On mix driving I usually get 12/100 km or around 20 mpg. And that's driving my car no ***** footing.
Lol I get 31-33 at around 80. I use cruise control. Let my auto shift under 2k, I have an airaid intake, roush axle backs and resonators, Michelin defender series tires that help save gas. 2.73 gears and 93 octane fuel.

I want gears but am not sure like the OP. I want the bat out of hell acceleration but yet, I love to save money where I can.

At 5k ft, I believe 7.7 0-60.

If you wanted no tune, I'd say just go with 3.31's and they will work well with FI later and give you a few hundred rpms to spare until redline if you're worried about 1/4 mile performance. Also, if by chance, you wish to go back to stock, the dealer can flash your pcm for the auto shifting and speedo calibration.
