Installation price

I have a 2013 V6 Mustang I want to buy a grill for it but I seen a installation video And they say that the car has to be on a lift and is like a really big procedure just to take off the grill so I was going to take it to be installed somewhere how much did it cost if any of you's did it

I know when my brother and I were going to swap grills on our 07's it took about 2 hours to unmount and remount without lifting the cars at all. I can't imagine the new grills would be that much different.

In the video it's a 13's GT so there are the fog lights in grille, they were cutting the fog light housing not the grille. On 13's V6 we don't have fog lights in the grille

Our grille is like this, center black part can be pulled out like in the video (although I went the safer way and took the bumper apart)

Not sure about the '13 and up models, but the '11 to '12 models can have the grills "pulled" out, but you may damage one or more of the locking tabs on the grill itself. No big deal if you have no plans to re-use it.

Removing the front bumper cover is very easy to do on our Mustangs, and this would make removal for the grill easy, without worry of breaking a tab or two.

Idk Pulling it out looks like it would take 5 minutes to put the grill in but taking out the front bumper of the car looks like a big process to me

Thanks for the video
I agree with Bucko. Especially since the rip out process can damage the insert slits on your bumper. You do that, no grill will fit snug. At that point your only option is to buy a new bumper cover to get everything to fit right again.

I use to have a 08' before my 12 and had to replace one head light. It's the same process as the grill. You have to remove the bumper cover to get access to it. This process is time consuming yes, but very easy. You'll work harder wiping your brow from sweat, then actually strenuous labor.

My advise is to do it yourself and remove the bumper. Too easy to ruin your bumper to grill assembly to chance it. Getting it done at a shop is just a smack in the face when they tax you for something that is really easy to do yourself

The lift just makes it easier. Here's a step by step video.

Not difficult. Take your time and do a little learning while you wrench. You'll appreciate your ride a bit more knowing you did it. Or you won't.

You can probably do it yourself with no lift required. only take a couple hours
