Is this normal?

When flooring my car, the car chirps through 3rd.

And the shifts are extremely hard.
I don't see the hard shifting as a problem, since its only at WOT and helps when I'm racing, but the car feels like what a drag car looks like when it's shifting
Super hard and you can feel it kick you in the *** when it's shifting. Is this a problem? Or is it just to awesome?!?

Its normal. I just bought new tires but went with 255 width. Still spins some in second and chirps in third. Not bad for an automatic

Wait, so how hard if a shift is better for an automatic? I thought hard fast shifts were good, but not violent. Sluggish shifts kill the tranny

It gives a little jerk, but it's not like

Why did you stop the video before hitting third? Always love hearing auto's chirp the tires switching gears.

I cut the video exactly because I wanted my 0-60 time to be exact :p

Is your car tuned? Did you buy it new or used? If used, it may have a tune in it that firms up the shift points.

I agree. Mines stock with 3:31 rear end. Tires don't break loose for anything. Even with traction controll off

When I was stock with 3.31 gears I could break the tires loose without even trying. And that's with the performance package tires (255/40/19). But I also have a 6 speed manual. That probably has a lot to do with it.

Yes it does. I could break the tires loose in a 60hp VW Beetle with a manual trans. My 65 Mustang 289 2bbl automatic would break loose in first and chirp in second with a shift kit and radial tires. This 305hp auto should spin easily with traction control off but it doesn't. Just digs in and goes. Not a bad thing I guess but where's the fun in that, lol

It is normal with stock tires. Throw a set if 275 or 285 out back. I use to burn 1st, 2nd and chirp 3rd as well (i have 6MT) but since putting 275 in the back i can burn 1st and chirp 2nd.
