Anything CAN happen. Drivers can be a HUGE factor. At my local races my 94' Cobra with 3.73's exhuast and 3 people in the car beat a 2005-2009 3v GT that I know had exhuast and 2 people in the car. Got him by 3/4 of a car. Driver mod is key.

No way a lightly modded 4.0 can beat even a stock 3.7. The difference is 100 hp... Same as the differences between the 3.7 and 5.0. Unless the guy was driving a stick and didn't know what he was doing at all

No. A stock v6 can run low 9's @ 77 mph easy.

I was running 9.2s @ 81mph today. Car was not feeling it thanks to the 95+ degree heat we were having today. Guy that worked the time slip shack still asked if it was a supercharged V6 when he saw my times lol.

Can't wait to get up to Anchorage in September. Cool weather, close to sea level, and a full 1/4 mile track haha.

2012 auto
2.73 gears
Airaid CAI
Lethal O/R h-pipe
Pype bombs
Nitto NT555s
Eibach Sportlines
LCA relocation brackets
and Koni str.t shocks/struts

I went through Bama's 93 octane performance and race tunes as well as MPT's 93 octane performance tune. MPT's was faster by .1 second. Couldn't get traction out of the hole and it hesitated most of the way through 1st even with advance trac off.

Thought the heat was causing the hesitation, but i just found that both fasteners holding my MAF sensor in backed out and sensor slid out some. I'm willing to bet that screwed with things. Too bad I didn't find that at the track earlier :-/.

1/8th mile

so ran my car for the first time last weekend on an 1/8th mile track. It was a very slick track and I spun like crazy, I ended up running a 9.045 with a CAI, Borla Atak's, Bama race tune, and 3.73's. I Have 275's and still spun so it looks like its time for radials.

Not a bad trap speed for a v6, where are you shifting?

Look him up on youtube. He has 1,000,000 videos there. He does have one of the 'faster' v6 Mustangs

this was the pass for that slip. I usually would cut the 1-2 shift a little short to prevent lockout then rode the 2-3 out a little over redline. this was the last pass after i datalogged it , i never got to run at my home track (better prep) if i coulda got those runs in there i would hit 12.7 or 12.8 on a mid 1.7x 60 ft

If i can find it, it was so long ago lol. I've just picked up another 3.7 starting the mods all over with a clean slate, but doing it alot different this time. needed more suspension on the last setup and a bias ply would have made things much easier

Oh yeah, if you dont have the car anymore it doesnt matter. I was going to plot your maf lb/min over rpm and compare that to your shift point. Not insinuating at all that you don't know how to drive, i just find stuff like that interesting when i can actually get good data.

If i remember correctly these 3.7s with the right mods will make power to give or take 7200.

Let me guess this was on a MPT tune? you could have gone way faster on a BAMA tune.
