I don't mean to be rude, but i don't see the problem with adding stripes to a car. It's just going to destroy it and make it unusable

That might work...
I think I will try and ease into it this weekend and explain that I have checked and if we had to take them off it wouldnt hurt the paint and it would take a long time before any paint fade would happen

guess it will all depend on what her real "issue" with it is...
Sorry I cant read brains...

I said that is like saying you buy a computer but cant put any software on it, because if you wanted software you should have purchased it that way.
I was like WOOOO what is wrong with making a great thing better and personalized.
Tweaks and upgrades dont mean I dont love the car....

So now I am freaking hesitant to get them done, or bring it up again as I dont want to get my head bit off again...
Lol just let my wife read this , we had the same argument ! About every little thing iv done to the car ..
It cracks me up to know I'm not the only one that goes through it .
Stay strong brother ,

Lol. Wow this thread has gone crazy.

My girlfriend of 8 years is the same. She doesn't understand spending anything other than the purchase price. To her adding stuff is just silly. I have explained the technical side, the benefits to some of the mods including improved MPG. Does not matter to her. In the end I tell her that if she wants to buy clothes and make-up to mod herself then she cannot give me crap for doing the same for my car. Also, I point out that when she met me I was driving an 86 5.0 that had 10 years and 10k into it in aftermarket parts. That car was part of what she thought was hot about me and therefore should remain so.

Read your last sentence again, that might be your answer. Maybe she's afraid if you mod this one like your last one that will make you hot to other women.

True true. It's the man driving the car, not the car driving the man though.

Thanks all. It's actually a solid orange bumper to bumper super snake style stripe. Being a little color blind, I needed a striking color contrast to appreciate the effort of striping it.

I would of had this painted on mine in red if I knew what the stripe was called. I couldn't find it so I went boss. Love that pop it gives.

I have a set of Super Snake style "Sunflower Yellow" stripes sitting at home, I just need the ~$200 to get them installed, as I know I will screw it up and then hate myself

I had mine installed at a local performance shop that restores vintage muscle cars. They do really excellent work and even they had a little trouble with the vinyl kit install. I know I would have totally screwed it up. Painting the stripe would have been great but I just couldn't justify the cost at this time. Maybe in the future.
