Vinyl decals

Has anyone paid to have vinyl decal work done? I am thinking of getting some custom vinyl work done and got a bid from a wicked wraps shop locally but they quoted 1250.00 for very little work. I asked for the boss striping with 227 theme in black. Just curious if that is a decent price or if there are better ways to do it? Let me know if you have anything, what it is, and how much it cost.

personally I've been thinking of something like that... and $1200 is WAAAY TO STEEP!

I'd also love to hear from others and their experiences.

I was thinking of finding out more about plasti dip on the paint as opposed vinyl. I unfortunately no longer have access to a paint booth or painting equipment so I will have to pay someone as well.

Plasti dip is great in my opinion. I've been experimenting with it myself... but for something like your boss style decals I would definitely go vinyl... Just my honest opinion.

I agree. I don't want to use the cheap vinyl you buy online though. Let me know if you find a better price.

Like my stripping? I purchased them online through eBay. Couldn't be happier with them. Great quality ! All for under $130 dollars for the stripping kit.

Check out American Muscle. I paid $115 for my GT500 10inch stripes and $175 to have them installed. The guy came to my house and put them on. Several places wanted $300 to $550 to install them. Look around for the best price, but make sure they know what they are doing.

I did mine bought them from AM . They are not hard to install they just take for ever getting them perfect. I did mine one panel at a time staring with the roof then the next day the good the next front bumper next trunk etc .
Takes hours but I feel like I was that much more proud when I got compliments . It would be nice to have a helping hand also . ( not the wife could cause a divorce)

That is a good price. I figured the couple at wicked wraps was just trying to take me for a ride. Haha. I guess I just have one of those faces. Born to be screwed. F**k me. Lol.

That is exactly what I am looking to get, only with the word interceptor written under the 227 and in the hood spears.

I know I could do it myself. I use to be a detailed for a ford dealership up here and would have to instal the decals on new cars. I just know without the proper setup it could be a major pain. I live in apartments currently so there isn't an area to self instal. Plus if I get it wrong I can only make myself redo it. Lol. Great job on those stripes though! How long did it take? I would say you did a great job and another set of hands would have just gotten in the way.

The ones from AM from what I hear are really brittle. From what I gather they can't be heated up to reset if you get it wrong.

Men was from AM. It's alright. A few Rock chips and it'll appear white nicks. I'm going to order another set due to me wanting the boss 227 and they messed up my door. I paid 1000 for the stripe, painted roof, deck and trunk black.

I tried to measure and I tried to run tape but it never seemed to look rite so I ended up eyeballing it . The front bumper is tough because if you make them straight down the look crooked . So you have to make them crooked to look straight if that makes sense

Yeah for everything. But when I got in my wreck I had my hood redone with a pinstripe. The repaint was $1000 in itself. He used a better paint. Either way it looks good because taking care if a black car is my second job.

So 1200 for decals only is waaaaay too much. I though so. I was pretty sure we charged less for painting emblem work. I guess I'll call them tomorrow and ask if they want to redo the bid or just lose my business.

I think we're all confused
I thought that was for his hood, roof, trunk (all painted)
And for vinyl stripes

Not all of it is cheap. There are good ones that sell custom vinyl off of Ebay.

Ordered mine from AM and applied them myself with some help from my dad, just wanted the solid stripes though didn't really care about cuts or anything. The vinyle itself seems like good quility to me, I'll see how it olds up after driivng for a bit, it's only two weeks old now.

Look great. Straight and clean. I know I could do it. I use to apply the dealership decals for the appearance packages when I worked at a ford dealership. I just am too lazy. Lol. And don't have a garage anymore.

I posted on another thread here last week on this (guy wanted some yellow/gold Shelby stripes custom made). I bought mine from these folks (hood cowl, and side "C" stripe):

info@promotorstripes.comPro Motor Stripes. They use good 3M type vinyl.

ProMotorStripes made custom stripes for me also. Told them how I wanted them to look and they made them for me. Easy to deal with and a quality product.

This can't be your 'real' house number, is it? If it is, this is the best house number anyone could ever have

What kind of price were they?
I was the one interested in getting some Super Snake stripes made.
Curious on price and how long it took to get them
