Manual transmission problems?

So, I've done my fair share of searching but can't find any resources for this:

I've heard that 2011/2012 models have had some problems with the manual transmissions. I've heard this referred to as "lock out". Can someone explain to me what this is and what happens?

Also, did they ever fix this issue in the 2013/2014 models? I have only heard about it happening in the '11/'12s. I'm looking to get a '14 and want to know if I need to look out for this.

Also, I know that this can be helped with a new shifter bracket (or something of the sort). What does this new bracket do?

Lockout usually occurs when going through the gears quickly and will prevent you from going into the next gear. 90% of the blame is the useless shifter bracket ford went with. It was designed to eliminate cabin noise but created a sloppy shifter. The problem is that the shifter has to much play in stock shifter bracket. I ordered a one piece shifter bracket and problem solved. My mechanic even mentioned how crappy the stock bracket was.

My MT-82 getrag has been a very solid tranny. I can power-shift every gear no problems at all and I can get rubber going into 3rd gear. Car shifts butter-smooth. The MT-82 problems really are minuscule and you shouldn't worry about it too much. Just make sure you test drive the car before you purchase it (obviously).

I never had any trouble power shifting either. But my buddy sure did. $1600 later and a new clutch and tranny rebuild and 3 months fighting with Ford over the warranty. He finally got reimbursed in the end.
Now I'm craving a ride in the new 5.0. Guess I give him a call now. Lol.
