Very true and keep in mind that not everywhere is charging that ridiculous amount for a sports rental car so it is easily accessible for some people.

Oh yes, I forgot to tell you all what happens to the new sports cars that arrive on a car lot. Also lets not forget how they are driven on most test drives. Lol.

I was planning on getting a Fusion, and the lady at the rental counter was like "I've got a ton of Mustangs I can give to you for the exact same price". Who could say no to that?

I purchased my 2012 from a Ford dealer and I was prior rental. 15k miles on it since I bought it and not a single issue. Knock on wood!

Finding a manual rental car here in the states is near impossible. Probably cause most Americans are lazy and don't even know how to drive a standard. In Canada it may be a different story though.

That is true. But you should smell those poor cars when the torture test is done. With little time to work the fluids through the systems, 26 miles is essentially like 500. Haha.

Rentals are hit and miss a lot depends on the company renting it. I'm not overly hard on rental cars. I do like to redline them on occasion

I totally agree with your statement, new cars have major problems too. New cars CAN have issues. With that said, playing the percentage game a new car is less likely to experience a catastrophic break compared to a rental car that has had thousands or hundreds of customers driving them. There is a much lower percentage that the new mustang from the dealership will not have major engine and transmission issues. Can they have issues, sure can but I will take my changes with a new car over a highly chanced beaten to dog ***** sports car from customers like me who didnt give a rats back side about what long term effect on the car.

If I wanted to learn how to drive manual would I spend 30k on my stang to jack the clutch up. Hell no. I will rent a mustang for a few days and work that clutch like a hooker working on the streets. I'm gonna redline that b otch 8500k rpm's on my shifts and dump that clutch all day long at 3k rpm's. I'm gonna run the ball piss out of your rental vehicle that your buying with 12 to 15k miles. And just think, I'm just one of thousands or hundreds customers who are ragging your ride.

Good luck with your rental vehicle sports car.

I had to pay almost 4500 just in ****ing taxes!!!!!! I honestly think Quebec is the most expensive place in north america to buy a car!!!
I'm sorry but Illinois isnt any better on taxes. Few guys from Illinois on here might remember this sign, it was off highway 80 between Morris and minooka.

This thread is hilarious!!!!

Did the guy ever update us yet at what he did? I never saw his response

I have to agree with majority of the guys on here. Common sense would tell me at least to use extra extra precaution because if I was gonna rent one, I definitely enjoy it very much so.
I like how fastford put it " post the vin number to stay clear of it"

This is funny stuff

I know right. Funny how some are in denial that rental cars aren't abused by most people who rent them. Especially a sports-car non the less. Funny thread indeed.
