Cleaning vinyl stripes

So my semi white strips got a little bit of dirt on them and when I wiped them off it left a stain mark. Does anyone know how I can get this stain out?

Not saying it is Ok for your stripes, but I have been using Meguiars Detail Spray on my matte blacks stripes without affecting the finish. I do not rub hard on them either, just lightly go over them.

I was JUST going to ask if this was okay.

I'm going to add some flat black gt500 stripes in a couple months and was wondering how hard the care was.

Well, for mine it has been fine. I got my stripes from ProMotorStripes.com. Not sure about anyone else's stripes. ProMotorStripes also will sell you just pieces if you screw something up. That would also come in handy in the case of the stain originally asked about. If you can't get it out and you bought your stripes from them, they would just sell you the piece you need for a very reasonable price. Maybe the original poster should see if that is an option if they bought the stripes from someone.

Yeah mine was just installed by the dealer and they are redoing them on Monday since they did them wrong but it got me thinking about the future. If a little mud splatter can leave a stain on whitish stripes I'm in for a long road. I mean I can't afford to have them replaced regularly. I'm not the first guy to ever have stripes so that's why I was wondering what other people were doing. Especially the ones on the side of the car that are closer to the ground you are 100% likely to get mud splatter, etc on them.

The pro that installed the hood cowl on my Mustang said that they should not be waxed along with the rest of the car. However, I've been using a detail type wax on them (spray type detailer) with no ill effects so far. I do have black though, so discoloration is not a factor for me.

For those with the discoloration, have you tried some good soapy car wash?
