Same here. Seems like Shorties are getting more and more popular for the 3.7! They really do sound good.

The ATAK is loud, you will get noticed. The FRPP are more Quite and deeper in tone for that. Both are made by Borla.

I'll give it some thought, thanks. I do like the really deep sound of the frpp though so this might be a tough decision lol.

Get rid of your resonators! Don't tame the beasts! I noticed with my resonators on my Roush droned worse on the highway than no resonators. If you need extra resonators with just Axel backs you've bought the wrong exhaust.

Did you have a loud brrrrrrrrrr when just cruising around. Sounds like a fart cannon but outside is totally different.

Dude its a v6, I'm running stock with Roush and get compliments all the time. At WOT after break in the roar and sound amazing. I love mine but I understand everyone has there own tastes. You should be able to get a good chunk of coin for them.

I noticed it a lot after I put my resonators on. I had a long drive back from the garage, all highway, and noticed right away that brrrrr. To be honest I thought the resonators would take it off but I found it quite the opposite! When my windows are down with no resonators I don't get any of that unwanted brrrr. With the windows up I do get some but its very tolerable.

I still have my glasspacks for when I go LTs or shorties, still not sure if I want off road or catted x though. I think off road x with LTs and Roush will just be way to loud for a dd even with the glasspacks but idk, what do you think?. Also that cattless fine scares the hell out of me! Thanks a lot Bucko! Lol

Still Living in the Third World....

Quote:

Ok guys, I still live in the third world. I don't have Facebook, Twitter or a Cell phone that captures videos. My cell is at least 6-7 years old and still works. So when people tell me about their I-Phones, I just listen and not my head once in awhile.

Before I got my headers installed, I had BBK Catted X-Pipe with the Ford Racing Sport Axle-Back Exhaust. The Sport Axles are not LEGAL in California. They are real RASPY sounding when you get on it. Now with the Shorties (Ceramic-Less heat but $100 more) I have a more of a growl when going slowly. When I step on the gas it growls louder but deeper. Then the Raspy sounds kicks in. However with a V6, you will never have that deep sound like a V8 would have. I am waiting for an updated tune. Tune will be 92 Octane, to hard to find 93 here.

Install time for my mechanic was four hours. I didn't want Long Tube Headers for the following reasons.

1) I purchased my mustang on July 19th of 2013. At that time, Shorties weren't even a wet dream.

2) Since no one had any idea when or it someone would come out with shorties, I did the Catted X-Pipe with Ford Racing Axle-Back.

3) Going to Long Tubes meant shelving my Catted Z-Pipe and paying another $449 for the shortened version. Also, it meant having to worry about hooking up the O2 sensor. There would be an additional $200 for the Long Tubes. I did buy the ceramic ones, hoping to cut down on the heat.

With this setup, I can drive down the road without my heavy foot, with no problem. Again price may also be a factor for some.

To date, I have spent just a little over $5,500 on my car. Next will be heavy duty rotors and pads, New Wheels and Tires.

Then comes the Engine.

I HOPE I ANSWERED ALL YOUR QUESTIONS, IF NOT, SHOOT ME A MESSAGE.
