Uses a ribbon type cable (already there) that "spools/unspools" as you turn the wheel.

Many have upgraded their steering wheel to this option. Used to be a cheap upgrade when places like Roush and others did their mods. The upgrade to this wheel got popular quick, and the prices for this wheel started hitting the $200.00 plus price. Used to be you could get them for a hundred bucks or less.

Not sure what your asking....theres a ribbon cable already in place. Do you at least have cruise control, or any buttons on your stock wheel?

I could be wrong but I believe on most cars even if you buy the base model all the wiring for all the optional add ons is still there. It's cheaper to just make all the wiring the Same and add the options later then to have different wiring harnesses and production lines for different cars

my understanding is that the steering wheels are interchangable and the wiring harnesses for each generation are the same.

However, from what I've read you need to get your dealer to perform some change to the audio control module to get the additonal buttons to work.

there is a thread in here on it. I've looked at it, but haven't done it yet....

This is true. If you upgrade your steering wheel to a premium wheel only the cruise control will work right away. You have to have your dealer make the audio buttons work. Some dealers will do it some won't.

But like I said, it all depends on your dealer. Some will do it , others won't.

Yeah it is possible, I don't know how the wiring would work though. But to answer your question, Yes

Good call on the upgrade. I can't stand the cheap steering wheel that comes on the non-premium models.

I've seen a couple Boss steering wheels on eBay for a good price. Me likey the suede.
