Usually low prices=low quality gas. You get what you pay for. I pay quite a bit more for the gas I use but to me it's worth it. I have paid up to $1 more per gal just to have good gas in my car. When I pay this much for a vehicle I treat it with respect, same goes for the oil. 100% synthetic oil. ← which also could result in better mpgs
Well, I think the higher prices near Chicago don't have much to do with the quality IMO. It's as much as $4.50 for 87 regular when you get into the city, and that right now, when I think the prices dropped.

23 city/29 highway with a Bama 93 performance tune

I get almost exactly what Florida37L gets with the same setup.

I pounce on my machine and have a hard time getting anything less than 20 mpg combined doing 80 - 100 mph sprints.

I can average 31 - 32 in sustained highwsy driving (across Ohio) at 70 mph.

I dyno'd my car with the tune and got 267 hp aat the rear wheels. Everything read pretty perfect.

I'd be concerned if you can't get out of the teens.

It all depends on what type of driving and how hard you drive it. Last week I was getting 18 mpg only around the city while driving it semi hard. Today with mixed driving, traffic, city and 50% of highway driving combined with pushing it every once in a while I'm getting 27.

I just did a 400 km hiway run. 8l/100km average. It was a combination of 4 lane 110km/hr and 100km/hr mountain 2 lane hiway. This also included several romps on the pedal to pass slowpokes. Once you get the revs up these v6's can really book it. All in all I'm impressed with the v6 stock.

Good mpg, I've seen 7liters/100km once in my car for about 20 mins until I hit some traffic.

But seriously, it should be 28-31mpg if you're going 65-75 mph on a stock vehicle.

I know I get low MPGs because of where I live. The times I've went to Vegas, San Diego & San Fran I averaged 28-30mph & that was with some fun straight away pulls but here in my city I average 16-17 city & 25 hwy & that's with no/light traffic.

Not air quality but more lots of red lights & stop signs. For example when I went to pick up food earlier yesterday I caught 12 red lights & 3 stop signs in 7 mile. All that stopping & going my MPGs read 15mpg when I got back home.

Just a lead foot

I commute 30 miles (95% freeway) each way to work, and in 1 day (so 60 miles) its a quarter of a tank.
So it costs me about $10 to go to work everyday, and get ~4 days between fill-ups.

Y'all are insane ! I drove from Chattanooga TN to my house. (226 miles) averaging 80mph and I only used a hair over 1/2 tank. And I stopped in ATL for a bit of city driving as well. And that was on 87 octane BC I couldn't find ethanol free 93 octane. :shakes head:

I just can't fathom that low mpg on a 3.7 mustang. I have owned a 2004 3.9, 2011 3.7, and a 2012 5.0 Boss. And all of the cars got better mpg than y'all are talking. I got 24-26 avg (←mostly hwy) in my 3.9. All using ethanol free gas.

In all honesty, it's probably just owners looking at the computer and not using the pencil/paper method

U can't really compare MPG from 2 different places. It's a huge difference from driving in a small city compared to driving in a big city like Los Angeles where there's a traffic lights every 1/4 mile & hwy are worse than city driving.

+1, my city has stop signs and red lights f' in everywhere! 90% of my city driving doesn't pass 2nd gear. Right now over 4 days I'm averaging 10l/100km or around 24 mpg. Now that's city, some traffic, and highway.

I am in the desert with 112 degree wether (which might effect it, I am not sure)
Only gas/ethanol here.

I drive hard.

Like hard off the line, fast acceleration, medium highway traffic (some days less, some days more) and my "standard" highways speed is 80.
(Some times it goes higher, but we won't talk about that)

I haven't done pencil/paper with it, just the computer in the car.

I average 20-26 mpg during weekly city driving. My 1,024 mi trip to Cedar Point last weekend it was 32.0. Probably could have gotten it a little higher...but it just BEGS to cruise at 80-85
