My lights are 3rd gen, not 4th gen, 4th gen are smaller, so they don't project the image as clear I find. They also build up heat due to the led being the same size in 1/2 the housing. Is that what you guys are running?

By the sounds of it, you guys all hardwired the lights into the map light, has anybody put a switch in to control the lights so they don't run during the day/hours on end when cleaning the car, ect?

Are those pics from like 2' off the ground? Mine have the same logo but look clearer.

What's the wattage of the led? Are they Cree?
Hello,
I bought the gen 4 last year and they looked great, just like your picture, but a year later mine are starting to fade out as well, I wired mine to the map lights with no switch. So in my case they had a shelf life of just under a year before they started to fade, which isn't bad for 15$ I think it was.

Hello! My 2013 Mustang is a little over two years old and the Pony projectors are being replaced by Ford. The pony image is looking ruff to say the least. I will ask for the old parts to them and report back with a picture. They had to order them so it may take awhile.

Reporting back after Ford replaced my Pony projector lights. The dealer did not let me have the old defective lights and sent them back to Ford for their review. I looked up the price [Ford part] for the lights and both came to below $60 bucks. The lights snap in and out so replacement is easy. My Mustang is two years six months old [23,008 miles] at this time. The new lights project a sharp and clear image like the old ones did when the car was new.

Anyone know if you can buy the actual logo that Ford installs with the galloping pony rather than the tri- bar image? Please let me know!

Thanks,

Candice

Yes they can fit, you just need to drill a hole under the door panel and wire it to the map lights.

I found mine on eBay for 14 bucks, had to buy intercom wire because the wire it comes with is so tiny and they give you basically none and it's got to go all through the door and dash, but I'm happy with the results, even though the image is cut off by the bump in the door, they are as far out on the mirror as is possible on my 2012 v.6Click image for larger version

If you mean my link, I can't seem to find that same vendor anymore but if you do a search for Mustang pony light, try bar logo lights, or mirror lights, those should help you find similar products without too many search pages. Apparently calling the projector lights is a bad idea nowadays LOL
