I believe you tell the tuner what gears/mods youre running. Should def have a 2.73 option.

I think you can upload the tune, then go back in and change the gear ratio to what you currently have

Your speedometer will be wrong. Just be patient and wait till you get the gears set up. Why risk problems..

Well if you still have stock 2.73 gears and your tuner programs the ecu for 3.73 gears. Remember as soon as you mess with the ecu warranty is over. It would suck if you tune your ride for parts it doesnt have and something goed wrong right away..

If your Bama tunes are anything like mine, the Street tune will allow you to change to gear ratio as well as other parameters prior to loading the tune. The parameters for the Performance and Race tunes however, are locked to whatever Bama tuned them to.

Hey,

Great list of mods! A Driveshaft, Gears and Bama tune is 3 of the best mods you can do to your Mustang. Your car is going to be a completely different animal on Wednesday when you finish up the gears!

As far as the tune goes. Just give the Bama team a call and we'll gladly get you a tune sent out for your current gears. You have free tunes for life so it's not a problem at all! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Please let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance in the near future!

-Dan

if you have an Automatic the wrong gear (either gear or tune) ratio will mess up shifting.

Yes, the speedometer will be way off. If your car is calculating for 3.55's and you have 2.73's, it will be all out of wack. It's just like putting gears in your car, without a tune! If you put 3.55's in your car but the tune is for 2.73's, the speedo is going to be way off.

I hope this helps!

Steeda I believe. I just installed a air raid no tune and that by itself livened up my baby. Now the motor really roars when I get on it. I wanted to do the tune and gears but I am really leery of losing my 10 year warranty I fought tooth and nail to get. Let us know what or if your dealership says anything post tune.

Any CAI that is "tune required" will give you the most gains, and I believe Steeda is the only one that fits that description.

Dealership cant void your warranty because you got a tune they have to prove that can cause the part to fail I talked to mine and that what they Said

I have a friend that's a mechanic. I went to and told I wanted to add some aftermarket parts. In order for me to do this, I will get the parts. Ordering from AM, I saved 6% plus 7% sales tax. I told him I knew he made money on parts but I wouldn't be able to afford that. So I am saving a lot of money that I can put back in the car. Economy being tight, you might also be able to save some money.
