GT500 conversion

Well it's finally done and here are some pictures.

BUT there is something I haven't figure out yet.
My bumper is hanging slightly lower than it should be so there is a height different between the hood and bumper. About two pennies thickness across the entire way.

Not sure why that is, could it because I do not have the foam absorber behind the bumper?

You can adjust the stops on your hood that should get the height correct

Do you have hood struts? If so, it just need to be adjusted?

Hood stops need to be lowered.

You need the "Powered by Ford" side front fender emblems. I have a set ready to apply to your Mustang.....

Looks very nice. You did the badging tastefully to. You're not trying to pass it off as a Shelby with all the Shelby badging. Well done!

thanks for the positive comments, I know not everyone approves of making it look like Shelby. I am not trying to pass it off as one so I don't have any Shelby or snake emblem. What can I say? I just like the aggressive look of the Shelby and the fuel economy of a V6.

As for the hood fitment problem, I tried the bump stop after seeing the suggestions. I got it to the point where the hood is sitting at the same height level with the fenders but it still has a small height difference front the front bumper.

I got everything except number 10 and 17 in this picture but I am having hard time believing they will affect the height of bumper. Am I missing something?

Part 10 is the foam for the "bumper" The V6 bumper may use a different one. Your bumper cover could be sitting higher because of it.

It's actually empty inside right now since the V6 foam doesn't fit. That's the only thing I can think of that might cause my bumper to hang lower than it should. Guess I won't know for sure until I actually buy that part

When I first saw it I didn't approve of it till I noticed there was no Shelby badging. Now I'm loving it!! Lol. It's good your not badging it as one.

Maybe the foam on could possibly hold up the bumper a lil?

Front end $1690

Bumper cover + grilles + fog lights + chin spoilers, I got it used for 500 shipped but it was in a different color so I had to spend another 300 to get it painted in right color.
Hood + heat extractor I got it used in the right color for 800 shipped.
Installing hardware I got it new for 90 shipped but only the two necessary brackets to hang up the bumper. I'm missing radiator cover, splash guard underneath, and the foam absorber inside the bumper.

Back end $577

I got the quad mufflers used for 325 shipped
The quad pipe valance new for 192 shipped
And since pipe diameter is different I had to spend 60 bucks for the shop to weld it on.

So everything together is about $2267.
I think it's reasonable considering most of the items are used. But that's if you're ok with used parts and have the patience to hunt to them.

Making a Mustang "your own" is what its all about. If folks give you grief about copying the style of another Mustang model, simply extend your hand out, palm facing upwards. When they ask what you are doing, tell them your asking for the next months car payment.

If I make the monthly payments, then no one can tell me what is right or wrong about the modifications I make.

Looks great man! Where'd the lettering on the rear come from? I really like the accent it gives.

Get that piece man, I can tell you first hand that driving with half of one will cause the bumper to sag and just not feel tight.

I had my front end replaced and once I got a new one, my hood fit better and my front was also a little more stable feeling at highway speed. Probably cause it wasn't flexing

Thanks guys, I had done a google search but the only result I found was priced for over 100.00. Or maybe I just saw the price wrong, I am at work.

I posted the price break down a few posts before yours. I did all the install myself except exhaust was welded on by exhaust shop.
