Quick tune question

I can't seem to find the answer to this. Say my car is stock and there are three tunes on my tuner. I load on a tube and I'm good to go. If I want to flash to a different tune that is already on the tuner can I go ahead and do that, or do I need to return to stock? Or do I only need to return to stock before I plug the tuner into the computer to get more tunes?

So it looks like this. Do I need to flash to stock everytime before switching between tunes that's already on my tuner

Or switch back to stock only when I have to plug the tuner into the computer to get new tunes?

It is recommended to flash to stock before updating or changing tunes.

Recommended but not required. I've been switching between tunes without going back to stock with no problems whatsoever. The only time it would be required to go back to stock would be if you're updating your tuner's firmware or loading new/updated tunes to your tuner. Not going back to stock when doing either of those is when people tend to run into issues and sometimes brick their ecu.
