2013 auto v6 rear end gear swap

Planning on changing out 2.73 gears for 3.73. Car has 5000 miles. Do I really need the whole kit from AM? Or can I use the existing bearing and seals?

I have 15000 km on mine and my mechanic said although its not necessary because the milage is low that if I had the little extra $$ to get the kit then go for it. At 5k you should be fine without it.

I just did this with 6,500 miles. They didn't use any of the replacement kit except for the gasket. Now I have the bearings set for my other car which has 39,000 miles. I'll find out Thursday if they needed any for it.

If you Get Ford racing gears, and have Ford install itt, will it void the factory warranty?

It kind of sucks but it depends on the dealer. Some will honor it and some do not want to mess with it. You have to shop for a performance dealer.

The real problem lies with what gear you choose. Anything over 3.31 ford does not offer a factory tune.
